‘The Art Of Women’ collaboration with renowned artist Lindy Lee is a celebration of women in art and a recognition of the incredible contribution women from multicultural backgrounds have made to Australian culture. Just like our founder, Carla Zampatti.
Lee’s ‘Rain and Fire’ drawings on paper were photographed and converted digitally into prints for Carla Zampatti’s creative director, Karlie Ungar, to design from. Lee also meticulously burnt and pierced silk to create a unique artwork for the collection launch runway show.
“Translating drawings into silk was a beautiful challenge and I was excited by that. There’s a beautiful resonance between the silk, the fire and my water drawings, silk flows like the water so there is that relationship, then perforations created these beautiful shadows on the silk that fall on top of each other”
