The house in brief
The German-born artisan Enrique Loewe Roessberg joined the Madrid workshop in the 1870s, and the house took his name in 1876. Loewe became official supplier to the Spanish Royal Court in 1905 and has been part of LVMH since 1996. Its emblem, the Anagram of four interlocking L letters, was drawn by the artist Vicente Vela in 1970 and is still embossed, embroidered and cast across the collection.
Jonathan Anderson led the house from 2013 to 2025 and gave it the Puzzle, the Flamenco and the Hammock. Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, the founders of Proenza Schouler, became creative directors in 2025. Leather goods are made at the Loewe workshop in Getafe, outside Madrid, while the ready-to-wear, shoes and jewellery come from specialist makers in Italy, Spain, Portugal and France.
