Magda Butrym is easy to wear once you accept its one rule: one rose per look. The house builds everything else around a sculpted silhouette and a short list of materials, silk, cotton-silk, wool, sheep and calf leather, hand crochet, so the work is proportion, not matching. Three looks cover most days.
1. The rose and nothing else
The Long sleeve crepe beach mini dress in black with the Rose slingback pumps in black satin and a bare neckline. The flower is the jewellery; the shoe repeats it at the toe and stops. It is the wedding guest look and the dinner look, and it works from a garden in June to a hotel in December with a coat over it.
2. The hourglass by day
