Christopher Esber Sunglasses: Paolo, Milla, Davies, Dillon and Uma Compared

Christopher Esber launched eyewear with its Resort 2024 collection. The mainline sunglasses are the Paolo 96, Davies 99, Dillon 95 and Uma 98 in acetate, all with 100% UV protection, and the Milla 96 in metal. They are separate from the Christopher Esber range sold at Specsavers in Australia and New Zealand, which is a different collection.

Here is how the shapes differ and which face each suits. Coveti carries the mainline sunglasses only, in the Christopher Esber collection.

The styles at a glance

Style Frame Shape Lens
Paolo 96 Acetate Narrow rectangular lenses, low-profile front, contrast temple detail 100% UV, lens category 3
Davies 99 Acetate Bold, rounded wraparound front 100% UV, lens category 3
Dillon 95 Acetate Sculpted, wide frame 100% UV
Uma 98 Acetate Soft cat-eye shape 100% UV, lens category 2
Milla 96 Metal (stainless steel, nickel silver, monel, titanium) Slim oval metal frame, acetate tips Nylon lenses

Which shape suits you

  • Strong jaw, angular face: the softer Uma 98 and Milla 96 balance it.
  • Round face: the Paolo 96’s narrow rectangle adds line.
  • Want a statement: the Davies 99 and Dillon 95 are the boldest frames.

The Specsavers range is different

In October 2025 Christopher Esber released a separate eyewear collection with Specsavers in Australia and New Zealand, covering optical frames and sunglasses. Those frames are sold by Specsavers only. The styles on this page are the brand’s own mainline sunglasses, sold through Christopher Esber and its stockists, including Coveti.

Care

Christopher Esber recommends wiping the frames with a soft, dry cloth. Keep them in their case, and avoid leaving acetate in a hot car, where it can soften.

Lens categories, in plain terms

Sunglass lenses are graded from 0 to 4 by how much light they block. Most of the Christopher Esber acetate styles use a category 3 lens, the standard for bright summer sun, which is what you want for the beach and for driving in daylight. The Uma 98 uses a lighter category 2 lens, better for city wear and changeable weather. Neither category is suitable for night driving.

Fit

Christopher Esber describes its acetate frames as an international fit, which means a standard bridge and temple length designed to suit most faces. If you usually find sunglasses slide down your nose, the narrower Paolo 96 sits closer than the wide wraparound Davies 99.

How to wear them with the collection

The acetate frames pick up the brown, black and tortoiseshell tones that run through the bags and shoes. Wear the Davies 99 with a Christopher Esber bikini and the Jo flip flop at the beach, and the slim metal Milla 96 with tailoring in the city.

Which to buy first

  • One pair for everything: the Paolo 96 in black.
  • Holiday: the Davies 99, the most protective shape.
  • Light and minimal: the Milla 96 in metal.
