Jenny Packham is a British eveningwear house, founded in London in 1988 by the designer of the same name. It built its reputation on one thing done exceptionally well: the embellished evening gown, cut to fall cleanly and finished with beading applied by hand. Three decades on, that is still the signature. The house runs a bridal collection alongside its evening line, which is why the same vocabulary of crystal, sequin and fine bead turns up at weddings and at awards season.

The label is closely associated with Catherine, Princess of Wales, who has worn it on numerous public occasions, and it is a recurring choice on red carpets. Coveti carries the ready-to-wear line: evening gowns, cocktail dresses, mini dresses, and the occasional cape and beaded jacket.

The floor-length beaded gown. Keep jewellery to one piece. A fine drop earring beside a densely beaded bodice reads better than a necklace competing with it. Hair back, so the neckline is visible.
The column in plain crepe. This is the one that takes a statement earring and a strong lip. With no surface decoration to balance, accessories carry the look.
