Full cloque skirts

The Rova Dress in Wine and the Rune Dress in Burgundy both have a fitted bodice above a full skirt. The skirt is forgiving, so size to the bust and waist. If your hips sit in a larger row than your waist, these are the easiest Roksanda dresses to fit.

Knotted and wrapped waists

The Zoa Dress in Black drapes across the body and knots at the waist, and the Elva Dress in Pink has an asymmetric wrapped waist under a one-shoulder neckline. In both, the waist detail is placed for a specific point on the body, so the waist measurement sets your size.

Tailoring

The Ivara Jacket in Brown Melange has sculpted shoulders and a cinched waist, with a circular cut out across the back. Tailoring is the least forgiving category at the shoulder, so if your shoulders are broad for your bust, consider the larger size and have the waist taken in. The Ines Trouser in Navy drops low at the waist and runs wide to a cuffed hem, so choose it by your hip measurement. What should you do if you are between Roksanda sizes?

Size up for structured pieces and fitted bodices, and size to your smaller measurement for relaxed, draped styles.

Your measurements will rarely land on one row. When they split, look at where the garment is fitted. If the fitted point is your larger measurement, take the larger size, because letting a seam out is rarely possible on silk and cloque, while taking it in usually is. If the style is relaxed through that area, the smaller size will usually sit better through the shoulder and neckline.

• Bust in one size, hips in the next: for full-skirted cloque, take the bust size. For bias columns, take the hip size.
• Waist smaller than the chart suggests: wrapped and knotted dresses can be adjusted by a tailor at the waist. Size to bust and hips.
