What are the new Aje denim skirts for Resort 2027?

The two new Aje denim skirts are the Vaila mini and the Vaila midi, both cut from rigid 100% cotton denim in Deep Blue Wash and both built around pleats. They arrived on Coveti on 21 October 2026 as part of Aje’s October deliveries from Resort 2027, the collection Aje called “Siren” and showed at Australian Fashion Week in May 2026.

Vaila Denim Mini Skirt

The Vaila mini is a pleated denim mini skirt with a structured, tailored finish. Aje lists rigid denim fabrication, twin belt loops, panel-seam detailing and twin-needle topstitching. The waist is finished with a facing instead of a separate waistband, which keeps the top edge flat and clean beneath a tucked tee. Closure is an exposed centre-back zip with Aje’s sculptural puller, so the back view carries the detail.

Vaila Denim Midi Skirt

The Vaila midi takes the same rigid denim into a pleated A-line with a drop waist. The pleats release lower on the body, so the skirt sits smooth through the hip and opens out towards the hem. It shares the mini’s faced waist, twin belt loops, panel seams and exposed back zip.

Delora Denim Short

The Delora Denim Short is the softer counterpoint: a wide-leg short in mid-weight denim with a faded finish throughout, in a light Sea Blue Wash. It has an elasticated waistband with a denim rouleau drawstring, front cutaway pockets and back patch pockets. The elasticated waist makes it the easiest Aje short in this edit to wear all day.

How does rigid Aje denim fit?

Rigid denim holds its shape and does not stretch with you, so the Vaila skirts fit exactly as cut from the first wear. Aje describes the fabric as 100% cotton with no elastane listed, which is why the pleats stay crisp and the panel seams keep their line.

In practice, that means the waist measurement matters more than the hip on the Vaila mini, and the hip matters more than the waist on the Vaila midi because of the drop waist. The Delora short behaves differently: its elasticated, drawstring waist is forgiving across a range of waist measurements.

The Leni Denim Pencil Skirt is the only pencil shape in the edit, in Cream from Spring 2026. Aje files it with its mini skirts, so expect a short, close pencil line, not a knee-length office pencil.
