Amiri Sunglasses: Venice, Venice Exposed and Mulholland
By Gemma Deeks, Coveti Fashion Editor. Updated 14 October 2026.

Every pair is made in Japan from acetate, fitted with Zeiss lenses, seven-barrel hinges and etched internal wire cores, and finished with a raised MA Quad motif at the temples. All share a 5 cm lens and a 2.4 cm bridge.

Venice, Venice Exposed and Mulholland: the difference
Amiri’s Pre Fall 2025 collection introduced a new eyewear collection set against the backdrop of Los Angeles. The frames share their names with Los Angeles places: Venice is the city’s beach neighbourhood, and Mulholland Drive follows the ridgeline of the Santa Monica Mountains and Hollywood Hills.
The Venice is a classic rectangular frame. The Venice Exposed, from Pre Fall 2026, takes the same rectangular silhouette and reworks it in new seasonal colours. The Mulholland is a square frame with the same construction and the same lens and bridge measurements.
In practice, the choice comes down to shape and colour. Rectangular frames read slimmer and longer across the face, while a square frame has more height and a bolder outline.
The Venice Exposed
1. Best new colour: Venice Exposed Sunglasses in Dusty Peach
Dusty peach is the softest shade in the edit, a warm pinkish tone that flatters most skin tones. It is the only Venice Exposed in this edit with a gold-plated MA Quad motif at the temples. Like every pair, it is made in Japan from acetate with Zeiss lenses and seven-barrel hinges.
2. Best statement colour: Venice Exposed Sunglasses in Blue
Blue acetate gives the rectangular Venice shape a stronger colour. It carries a silver-plated MA Quad motif, which suits cool tones and silver jewellery. It comes from Pre Fall 2026.
3. Best everyday pair: Venice Exposed Sunglasses in Black
Black is the most practical colour for daily wear and pairs with everything. The silver-plated MA Quad detail stands out against black acetate. Choose this one if you want a single pair that suits every outfit.
4. Best pale frame: Venice Exposed Sunglasses in Alabaster
Alabaster is a warm off-white that looks fresh with summer tans and white linen. It shares the silver-plated MA Quad motif, 5 cm lenses and 2.4 cm bridge of the other Venice Exposed pairs. Pale acetate shows make-up marks, so wipe the frame after wear.
The Venice
5. The original: Venice Sunglasses in Black
The Venice comes from Pre Fall 2025, the season Amiri introduced a new eyewear collection. It is a classic rectangular frame with a raised gold-plated MA Quad motif at the temples. Black with gold is the most classic pairing in the line.
6. Best two-tone: Venice Sunglasses in Black Yellow
Black yellow adds a second colour to the same rectangular Venice frame. It keeps the gold-plated MA Quad detail, Zeiss lenses and etched wire cores of the black pair. It is the brightest choice in the Venice range.
The Mulholland
7. Best square frame: Mulholland Sunglasses in Black Gold
The Mulholland is Amiri’s classic square silhouette, made in Japan from acetate for Pre Fall 2025. This black gold pair carries a raised gold-plated MA Quad motif at the temples. The square shape adds height to the frame and balances softer, rounder features.
8. Best with silver jewellery: Mulholland Sunglasses in Black Silver
The black silver version swaps the temple motif for silver plating. It has the same Zeiss lenses, seven-barrel hinges and 2.4 cm bridge as the black gold pair. Match the metal to your watch and earrings.
How to choose Amiri sunglasses
Start with face shape. Rectangular frames such as the Venice and Venice Exposed tend to balance round and heart-shaped faces because they add width and straight lines. Square frames such as the Mulholland suit oval and softer face shapes, giving them more structure.
Next, choose the metal. The gold-plated MA Quad motif appears on the Venice in black and black yellow, the Mulholland in black gold and the Venice Exposed in dusty peach. Silver plating appears on the Venice Exposed in blue, black and alabaster and the Mulholland in black silver.
Finally, pick the colour. Black frames are the safest for daily wear. Dusty peach, blue, alabaster and black yellow are better as a second pair.
Size and fit
Every Amiri style here has a 5 cm lens width and a 2.4 cm bridge. In optical terms that is a 50 mm lens and a 24 mm bridge, which are printed as 50-24 on many frames.
To compare, look inside the arm of a pair you already own. If your current lens width is close to 50 mm and your bridge close to 24 mm, these will sit in a similar way. A wider bridge sits lower on the nose, and a narrower bridge sits higher.
The etched internal wire cores run through the acetate arms. Wire cores let an optician gently adjust the arms for a closer fit behind the ears.
What the details mean
Acetate is a semi-synthetic material made from cellulose, typically sourced from wood pulp and cotton. Frame makers cut it from sheets and polish it to a deep shine.
Seven-barrel hinges have seven interlocking knuckles where the arm meets the frame. More barrels spread the stress of opening and closing, so the hinge stays firm for longer.
Zeiss is a German optics company that also makes sunglass lenses. Amiri fits every pair in this edit with Zeiss lenses, and every frame is made in Japan.
Which pair to buy first
If you are buying one pair, the Venice Sunglasses in Black is the most versatile. The rectangular frame is slim, black acetate goes with everything, and the gold-plated MA Quad motif matches gold jewellery and bag hardware.
If you already own black sunglasses, choose by colour instead. The Venice Exposed in dusty peach is the softest option for summer, and the Mulholland in black silver gives a bolder square outline with cool-toned metal. A second pair in a different shape gives you more range than two pairs in the same frame.
Care
Amiri recommends spot cleaning only. Clean the lenses with the cloth provided and store the sunglasses in their case.
Never put sunglasses lens-down on a table, and avoid leaving them on a car dashboard in the heat, which can warp acetate. Rinse off salt water and sun cream with a little cool water, then dry with the cloth.
How to style Amiri sunglasses
The Venice in black with gold detail suits a black leather jacket and denim. The Mulholland in black silver works with a white shirt and tailored trousers.
The Venice Exposed in dusty peach and alabaster are the summer pair. Wear them with linen, slides and a pale bag. The blue pair is strongest with an all-white outfit where it is the only colour.
Match the temple metal to your bag hardware for a polished finish. Browse more designer sunglasses at Coveti.
