How to Wear a Blazé Milano Suit: Every Matching Set, Explained

The short answer: Blazé Milano does not sell suits as one item. It cuts its blazers and its trousers from the same cloths, so you build the suit yourself: pick a blazer, then the trouser in the matching fabric. The classic pairing is a Charmer, Everyday, Everynight blazer with the high-rise, straight-leg Fox Pants. For a softer line, choose the slightly flared Lundy Pant. Both trousers fit true to size, while the oversized Everynight and Nightbreak blazers run one size large.

A matched set is the most useful thing the label makes. The jacket works on its own, the trousers work on their own, and together they read as tailoring in a way that two unrelated pieces never quite do. Below is every set currently available at Coveti, grouped by cloth, with what each fabric is and when to wear it.

Compositions are the brand’s own. Every piece is made in Italy.

First choose the trouser

The jacket gets the attention, but the trouser decides how the suit wears. Blazé Milano cuts five tailored trousers in its suiting cloths, and they are not interchangeable.

Fox Pants: the classic

High-rise, straight leg, front pleats and a pressed front crease, with a hidden zip, a hook and an internal mother-of-pearl button. This is the suit trouser in the traditional sense, and it comes in the most cloths. It sits well with every blazer in the line. The brand cuts it to a regular fit and advises your usual size.

Lundy Pant: the flare

High-rise and regular through the hip, then slightly flared, with front and back creases and belt loops. The flare lengthens the leg and balances a strong shoulder, so the Lundy is the better partner for the hourglass Charmer if you are petite. True to size.

Glassy Pant: the relaxed taper

High-rise with front pleats, relaxed through the hip and narrowing to a carrot-leg hem, finished with side slit pockets and a decorative back Smiley pocket. It makes a looser, more modern suit with the boxy Sunfire.

Husi Pant: the wide leg

High-rise, relaxed, wide leg with pleats and creases. In Novalis Dijon with the matching Charmer it is the strongest colour statement in the collection.

Tomo Pants: the soft suit

High-rise and relaxed with front pleats and a crease, closing with a side hook and a concealed zip. Paired with the cropped Shamo Bolero it makes a short jacket, long trouser proportion that feels quite different from a classic two-piece.

Then choose the jacket

All of the blazers share the label’s code: slightly padded shoulders, an internal mother-of-pearl button and the curved Smiley pockets. The difference is the fit.

Charmer is the slim hourglass, double-breasted, with peak lapels. It is the most feminine suit and the most formal, and it is the cut the Princess of Wales favours. Everyday is the regular, straight double-breasted, the safest choice for a first suit. Everynight and Nightbreak are oversized and boxy; worn with a straight trouser they give the slouchy, borrowed-from-the-boys suit. Sunfire fastens with one button and has a relaxed, boxy shape. The skirt and short suits

Not every set needs trousers. The Coci Mini Skirt is slim, high-rise and mini, with a concealed back zip and a decorative back Smiley pocket, and it comes in several of the jacket cloths. The Popeye Skirt in Classy Carbon Black is a knee-length, high-rise skirt in black virgin wool, the quiet partner for a black Charmer. For a long line, the Ara Long Skirt in Novalis Wine is an ankle-length wrap with a velvet waistband, cut in the same viscose and acetate as the wine Sunfire.

The label also cuts culotte-inspired shorts. The Tinker Shorts in Olmida Green Mix are high-rise and pleated in wool and cashmere, and they match the Everyday Blazer in Olmida Green Mix. The Tinker Shorts in Sweet Sea Multicolor pair with the Nightbreak and the Clelia Jacket in the same virgin wool.

Getting the sizes right

Blazé Milano sizes on its own ladder: 00, 0, I, II, III and IV, which convert to UK 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14. Every trouser and skirt in this guide fits true to size, and so do the Charmer, Everyday, Sunfire and Shelley. The Everynight and the Nightbreak are cut oversized, and the brand advises one size smaller than usual. So a woman who is a UK 10 would usually take a II in the Fox Pants and a II in the Charmer, but a I in the Everynight. Buying the halves separately is the advantage here: you can take different sizes top and bottom. The full conversion is in our Blazé Milano size guide.

How to wear a Blazé Milano suit

Keep it tonal underneath. A fine knit in one colour from the check, a crisp white shirt like the Onagori Shirt, a plain T-shirt.

Mind the break. The Fox and the Lundy are both high-rise. Wear them with a shoe that lets the hem graze the top of the foot, a loafer for the Fox, a heel for the flared Lundy.

Split it up. A matched set gives you three outfits. The blazer goes over jeans, the trousers go with a knit, and together they make the suit. Our guide to Blazé Milano denim shows how the jackets work with the label’s own jeans.

Add a coat in a contrasting cloth. A grey herringbone suit under a camel check coat looks deliberate. See the coats and jackets guide for options.

Caring for a wool suit

Wear the jacket and trousers together where you can, so the cloth ages evenly. Hang the blazer on a broad, shaped hanger, give it a day off between wears, brush it after each wear and steam out creases instead of pressing them flat. Follow the care label on every piece; tailoring in wool, cashmere and silk blends is made to last for years when it is treated this way.

Frequently asked questions

Does Blazé Milano make suits?

Yes, as matching separates. Blazé Milano cuts its blazers and trousers from the same cloths, so you choose a blazer and the trouser in the matching fabric, such as the Charmer Blazer and Fox Pants in Bravado Grey.

Which trousers go with a Blazé Milano blazer?

The Fox Pants are the classic match: high-rise, straight leg, pleated, with a front crease. The Lundy Pant is high-rise with a slightly flared leg. The Glassy, Husi and Tomo trousers are relaxed cuts offered in some cloths.

Do Blazé Milano trousers run true to size?

Yes. The brand cuts the Fox, Lundy and Husi trousers to a regular fit and recommends your usual size. Only the oversized Everynight and Nightbreak blazers call for one size smaller.

Can I buy a different size jacket and trousers?

Yes. Because each half of a Blazé Milano suit is sold separately, you can take one size in the blazer and another in the trousers.

What is the best Blazé Milano suit for evening?

The Mystere Night Blue set. The cloth is a midnight wool and cashmere blend, and the Nightbreak blazer in that colour is finished with black velvet details.

Are Blazé Milano suits made in Italy?

Yes. Every Blazé Milano blazer, trouser and skirt is made in Italy, most of them in virgin wool and wool and cashmere blends.
