Which Stockholm size should you buy?

The full Stockholm is the work bag: a 14 inch laptop and a 6.7 inch phone each get their own compartment, and the handles are long enough for the shoulder. The Midi Stockholm takes a 10 inch tablet and carries by hand in the crook of the arm. The Small Stockholm is the evening and errands size, big enough for a Kindle and a large phone. The Stockholm Shoulder is a different proportion again: long and narrow, an east-west shoulder bag with a 37cm zip opening that fits a large phone, cards and keys.

Why the zip matters

Most DeMellier totes close with a magnet. The Stockholm zips, which makes it the better pick for travel, for busy trains and for anyone who wants a bag that can be set down without spilling. The leather puller is hand-knotted, a small detail that wears in nicely.

Fine grain, suede and croc

Fine grain is the house leather for the Stockholm this season, with a soft hand and a subtle shine; DeMellier says it comes from a Leather Working Group gold-rated tannery in Italy. Suede gives the rounded shape a softer outline. The large croc-effect version reads most formal. Zebra-effect hair calf is the statement, and you will find it on the Stockholm Shoulder.
