What kind of clothing does Destree make?

Destree makes structured, graphic womenswear that the house describes as offbeat yet essential, with noble materials and European craftsmanship.

The silhouettes are clean, and each piece carries one strong idea: a sculpted sleeve, a contrast button line, a two-tone knit, a scalloped hem. The fabrics range from polyester and silk satin to 100% wool, 100% merino wool knits, cotton poplin and stretch suiting. The table below gives you the quick view before we go category by category.

Destree jackets

Jackets are the heart of Destree, and the cropped Amoako is the one to know.

The house calls the Amoako a contemporary reinterpretation of 1950s dressing: cropped, fitted at the waist, with a mandarin collar and voluminous sleeves. The white satin version is cut from a polyester and silk blend with tonal covered buttons. Alongside it sit the utility-style Tamara, the tailored Tatiana and Claude, and textured pieces such as the Lea and Mey. For a more tailored option, the Tamara Coated Tailored Jacket in Moss has structured shoulders and a coated surface with a subtle sheen. Our Destree jackets guide compares every style, fit note and fabric.

Destree coats

Destree coats are long, structured and graphic, with the detail placed on the buttons, collar and trims.

The Maelle Wool Long Coat in Black is a clean, elongated black wool coat with tonal covered buttons and a full viscose lining. The Mathilde Paisley Coat in Brown is the bolder choice: a luminous brown paisley print, a collarless round neckline and contrasting round buttons down the front and at the cuffs. The Maria coat in black and taupe wool, with velvet details, sits between the two. See our Destree coats guide for lengths and what to layer underneath.

Destree trousers

Yoshitomo is the house trouser, and it comes in more fabrics and leg shapes than any other Destree piece.

The Yoshitomo Flannel Trousers in Grey show the range: a textured grey flannel, sharp front pleats, a straight leg and a contrasting black lace hem. For a softer line, the Celine Paisley Straight-Leg Trousers in Brown are a paisley knit with a high-rise waist, a fluid straight leg, a concealed back zip and discreet hem slits. The Talia Tapered Tailored Trousers in Ecru have a high waist, a front pleat and a leg that narrows toward the ankle. You will find more in our trousers edit and in our Destree trousers guide.

Destree tops and knitwear

Destree tops are slim and precise, built to sit neatly under a cropped jacket while still showing a detail at the neck, cuff and hem.

The Roberta Cotton Poplin High-Neck Blouse in White is crisp cotton poplin with a refined high neck, a concealed front closure and an elongated curved hem; it is marked fits large, so size down. The Calo Checked Top in Camel pairs a boat neckline with a checked weave and white French cuffs finished with hammered gold-tone jewel buttons.

The knitwear is mostly 100% merino wool. The Rosa ribbed knit sweater in ecru has tonal scroll embroidery around the round neckline and a flared peplum waist, and the Joan Wool Flared-Sleeve Top in Navy Blue is a slim merino and viscose knit with flared cuffs. Shop the wider knitwear edit, then see our Destree knitwear and tops guide.

Destree skirts

Destree skirts are long and lean, designed to balance a cropped jacket on top.

The Ivan Buttoned Long Skirt in Brown is an ankle-length column with a high waist, a full-length front button placket of textured tone-on-tone buttons and a rear slit for movement. The Kara Loop wool knit skirt is a fine merino knit that follows the body, and the house notes it pairs naturally with the other Loop pieces. The Garden skirts in black and rust, and the Lucio Suit Bico skirt in black and white suiting, are the coordinated choices.

Destree dresses

Destree dresses fall into two groups: dresses that borrow the Amoako jacket vocabulary of sculpted sleeves and a cinched waist, and knit and velvet pieces for evening.

The Amoako Cotton Puff-Sleeve Maxi Dress in White takes the jacket’s voluminous puff sleeves and cinched waist into white cotton, with a high collar closed by a row of tone-on-tone buttons and an adjustable belt. The Jade Loop Long Dress in Ecru is an elongated, fitted merino knit with long sleeves, a mock turtleneck and tonal scroll embroidery at the neckline. For evening, the Amina Smart Velvet Dress in Black and White uses a two-tone Smart Velvet fabric with a subtle lustre.

Which fabrics does Destree use?

Destree works with a short list of fabrics and repeats them across categories, which is why the pieces match so well.

Satin is a polyester and silk blend, used for the Amoako jackets, cropped tops and Yoshitomo trousers, and it is lined in viscose on the jackets. The coats use 100% wool, with cotton-blend velvet details on the Maria. The knits are mostly 100% merino wool, with the Joan tops in a merino and viscose blend. Shirting is crisp cotton poplin, and the suiting fabrics carry a little elastane for movement. Every product page on Coveti lists the full composition, so you can check a piece before you choose it.

How do Destree pieces work together?

Destree designs many pieces in the same fabric and print, so a jacket, trousers and skirt can be worn as one look and split up again.

Three ways to build it:

  • Match by fabric. Amoako satin jackets have Yoshitomo satin trousers in the same colour, and the Tatiana Suit Bico jacket has a Suit Bico skirt. Our Destree sets and suits guide lists every pairing.
  • Match by print. The Garden motif runs across a jacket, trousers and two skirts; the Loop knit runs across trousers, a skirt and a long dress; Paisley runs across a coat, a top and trousers.
  • Match by tone. Ecru, brown, black and white repeat through the season, so a Joan knit, Talia trousers and a Mathilde coat sit together easily.

Where should you start with Destree clothing?

Start with one Amoako jacket, add a pair of Yoshitomo trousers, then choose a coat.

  1. Pick a jacket in a colour you already wear, such as black, white, ecru and brown.
  2. Add matching trousers for a suit, and a second pair in a neutral for everyday wear.
  3. Add one knit with a detail, such as flared cuffs and embroidery.
  4. Add one coat cut long enough to cover the jacket.

Before you choose, check the fit note on each product page. Most pieces are true to size, and the Destree size guide in this series lists the exceptions.
