Ienki Ienki Down Vests: Every Style Compared

A down vest is the most useful piece Ienki Ienki makes for layering, and the house cuts it in more shapes than most: slim, classic, cropped with a pillow collar, roomy and hooded, and the faux-shearling Keptar. All of them sit in our down vests and gilets edit.

Below, each style with its fabric and fill, then how to wear one.

The styles

1. Ienki Ienki Nano Vest Kiss Black

The slimmest of the range, with a minimal line made to go over knitwear and under a longer coat. Cotton lined, zip front.

2. Ienki Ienki Zip Vest Kiss Red

A classic straight vest with a zip front and a cotton lining; it also comes in beige, as Ienki Ienki Zip Vest Ennio Beige.

3. Ienki Ienki Cozy Cloud Vest Micro Pink

Slightly cropped, with a pillow-like collar and three buttons. It also comes in black, as Ienki Ienki Cozy Cloud Vest Micro Black.

4. Ienki Ienki Cozy Arco Vest Micro Blue

Roomy and quilted, with a hood that adjusts at the sides and back; there is space for a chunky knit underneath.

5. Ienki Ienki Keptar Vest Stefania Cream

Based on traditional Hutsul outerwear, in textured Stefania fabric edged in faux shearling. The cropped version is Ienki Ienki Cropped Keptar Vest Stefania Cream.

6. Ienki Ienki Frame Vest Fausto Black

Hooded, with a floating inner down liner, a waist drawcord, bound inner seams and tonal topstitching.

How to wear a down vest

Over a fine roll neck and under a long wool coat is the city version; the vest adds warmth without bulk at the arms. Over a long-sleeve top in a contrast colour, with matching down pants such as Ienki Ienki Dunno Pants Micro Black, is the weekend version. For the mountains, a hooded vest such as the Cozy Arco goes over a fleece.

Demand around the world

“Puffer vest women” averages 12,100 searches a month worldwide and climbs to 27,100 in November and December; “down vest women” averages 4,400. In the US the vest is a year-round layer; in the UK and northern Europe it peaks with the first cold weeks; in the Gulf our clients pack one for winter travel because it folds small.
