The Micros are the size of a card holder. The Numéro Un Micro, 10 cm square, holds cards, a key and a lipstick, and its 120 cm strap lets you wear it around the neck. The Numéro Dix Micro, made from upcycled offcuts, is often clipped to a larger bag. Neither takes a phone.

Nano: the smallest bag for a phone

The Numéro Neuf Mini (22 cm wide) and the Mokki Mini (27 cm wide) are small evening and weekend bags. The Cyme Mini, at 33 cm wide, is a mid-size tote that takes a wallet and a water bottle. Read the dimensions, not the name.

A quick capacity test

Before you buy a small bag, lay out what you actually carry: phone, cards, keys, lip balm, sunglasses. If that includes a full wallet and sunglasses in a case, skip the Micros and the Nano and look at the Mokki Mini and the Cyme Mini. If it is a phone and a card holder, the Nano and the Neuf Mini are enough, and they are easier to wear all day.
