About Fusalp
Fusalp is a French skiwear house, founded in Annecy in 1952 by two local tailors, Georges Ribola and Rene Veyrat. Its name comes from the fuseau, the stretch ski trouser of the Alps, which Fusalp went on to make on an industrial scale. Working with the French Ski Federation, the house made its first competition ski suit for the 1966 World Championships in Portillo, Chile. Jean-Claude Killy, the Goitschel sisters and Guy Perillat all raced in Fusalp. Philippe Lacoste and Sophie Lacoste-Dournel of the Lacoste family took control of the house in 2014, and Mathilde Lacoste is its artistic director. Every collection is designed in France and tested in the Fusalp laboratory in Annecy. The down carries Responsible Down Standard certification. The range now runs from fitted ski suits and stretch ski pants to down jackets made for the city.
“I like how the Barsy Ski Down Jacket looks as good at lunch in the village as it does on the slope.”

How Fusalp Compares
Shoppers looking at the Barsy Ski Down Jacket in Mastic often also consider Yves Salomon, Mackage and Moose Knuckles. Yves Salomon leans towards fur-trimmed apres ski pieces, while Mackage and Moose Knuckles make heavier city and cold-weather down. Fusalp is built for the skiing itself, with close-fitting suits and pants, a membrane tested in its own lab and a racing history that goes back to the 1960s.
