About Fear of God
Fear of God is an American label based in Los Angeles. Jerry Lorenzo started it in 2013 with no formal design training, and the name comes from his Christian faith. The early collections were built on heavyweight hoodies, long tees, track pants and flannels, cut loose and long in muted colours that all work together. The main collection is numbered rather than seasonal, and it has grown into tailoring, knitwear and leather made in Italy, Japan and the United States. In 2018 Lorenzo launched Essentials, a more accessible line of fleece, jersey and nylon basics in the same palette and proportions. The house has also worked with Nike, with Ermenegildo Zegna on a tailoring capsule in 2020, and with the NFL, MLB and NBA on licensed Essentials ranges.
