Alanui Sizing, UK to US and EU
Alanui sizes most of its knitwear and tailoring in letters, from XS to XL. Denim is sized by waist in inches, and the
Giorgio Armani for Alanui tailoring follows Italian sizes. The brand publishes the letter conversion below, and most
pieces are described as true to size. The Icon cardigan is cut oversized by design, so take your usual size.

What Makes an Alanui Cardigan Different
Alanui started with a single piece: a buttonless, oversized jacquard cardigan with a fringed edge and a two-tone belt,
inspired by a 1970s cardigan Carlotta Oddi found at a flea market in Pasadena. That shape is still the house signature,
called the Icon fit. The patterns, from bandanas to Hawaiian sunsets and wild horses, are worked in double jacquard, so
the motif runs through the knit itself instead of being printed on top. Many pieces take hours to knit and several more
to assemble in Italian workshops, which is why the brand lists the hours on each garment.
About Alanui
Alanui is a luxury knitwear house founded in Milan in 2016 by brother and sister Nicolò and
Carlotta Oddi. Carlotta is creative director and Nicolò is chief executive. The name is Hawaiian for “great path”,
a nod to the road trips across the American West and Hawaii that shape every collection. New Guards Group took a stake in
2017, and in March 2025 the founders bought it back to run the label independently. Fall Winter 2026 marks ten years
of Alanui and includes a Giorgio Armani for Alanui capsule and an Alanui x Looney Tunes collaboration with Warner Bros.
“The Amazing Journey Cardigan in Night Blue and Tabacco has the thing that makes Alanui so collectable: knitwear with a story in every row. You buy one and wear it for a decade.”

How Alanui Compares
Shoppers looking at The Amazing Journey Cardigan in Night Blue and Tabacco by Alanui often compare it with
Brunello Cucinelli, the Solomeo house known for quiet Italian cashmere,
N.Peal, the London cashmere specialist founded in 1936, and
Guest in Residence, for playful cashmere at a lower price.
Alanui is the most graphic of the four, with jacquard motifs and fringing where the others stay plain. Explore the full
