How dual-layer stretch lace is built
Lace is an openwork textile: a solid motif on a fine net ground, sheer wherever the net shows. Alex Perry lays two layers together for Resort 2027, which the house lists on every lace product page as dual-layer lace. Where the motif of one layer falls over the net of the other, the cover is denser, so the fabric reads as patterned rather than simply transparent.
The house describes the motif as a jagged floral: pointed petals rather than soft, rounded ones, which gives the lace a sharper, more graphic surface.
At 11.3% spandex this is a true stretch lace, so it moves with the body and recovers after sitting. That is why the bodysuits and the cupped dress can close with a concealed zip and still sit close to the skin without the rigid internal structure Alex Perry uses in its corsets. The skirts are listed as unlined: you see the lace and whatever you wear beneath it, which is part of the point.

Bodysuits
The Cupped Bodysuit in Stretch Lace, Bare has a cupped bodice, a high-cut brief and a concealed zip closure, and the jagged floral motif runs right across the front. It also comes as the Cupped Bodysuit in Stretch Lace, Rust.
The singlet version swaps the cups for a low scoop neckline. The Singlet Bodysuit in Stretch Lace, Rust and the Singlet Bodysuit in Stretch Lace, Teal share the high-cut brief and concealed zip.
Skirts
Three skirt shapes carry the house’s tuck detailing, small folds stitched into the lace that shape it to the waist and hip. The Tucked Column Skirt in Stretch Lace, Bare is the long one, a straight column filed under maxi skirts, also offered as the Tucked Column Skirt in Stretch Lace, Teal.
The knee-length Tucked Skirt in Stretch Lace, Bare is the most versatile shape in the suite and the only one in all three colours, with the Tucked Skirt in Rust and the Tucked Skirt in Teal. The Asymmetric Skirt in Stretch Lace, Bare adds an angled hemline to the tucks. All three skirt cuts are unlined.
Dresses
The Singlet Mini Dress in Stretch Lace, Bare has a low scoop neckline, thin rouleau straps, tuck detailing and a concealed side zip. The Cupped Dress in Stretch Lace, Teal is the evening piece of the group: a cupped bodice and tuck detailing on a midi length, closing with a concealed zip.
Fit and sizing
The official Alex Perry chart runs UK and AU 4 to 20, equal to US 0 to 16. Coveti holds every Resort 2027 lace piece in UK 4 to 18. Our read is that the stretch lace runs true to size. Because the spandex gives with the body, these pieces are more forgiving than the house’s boned corsets, which are non-stretch through the bodice and should be fitted to your tightest measurement.
For a bodysuit, torso length matters as much as bust and hip: between sizes with a long torso, take the larger one. For the column skirt, check your hip measurement first, since a straight column has no flare. Our Alex Perry size guide sets out the full chart.
How to wear stretch lace to evening events
Black tie. The Cupped Dress in Teal is the obvious answer. Keep the jewellery to a pair of drop earrings. Our black tie dresses guide has more long options.
A built evening look. Pair the Tucked Column Skirt in Bare with the Strapless Cupped Corset in Duchess Satin, Bare. Firm satin over a soft lace column reads as a gown from a distance. Joey King wore Alex Perry Resort 2027 at the InStyle Imagemakers Awards in October 2026.
Cocktail. The Singlet Mini Dress in Bare works with a sharp heel and a structured clutch.
Weddings. As a guest, choose Rust and Teal over Bare, which sits close to ivory in photographs.
How to wear lace in the daytime
The knee-length Tucked Skirt is the daytime workhorse. Wear it with a crisp cotton shirt tucked in, a flat loafer and a slip beneath, since the skirt is unlined.
A lace bodysuit under tailoring is the other route. The Singlet Bodysuit in Rust beneath an open single-breasted jacket shows just a strip of lace at the neckline, and its high-cut brief keeps the line smooth under trousers. For more combinations see our guide to lace bodysuits.

How we measured. Shape, closure, lining and composition come from the Alex Perry product page for each piece. Colours, the maxi and midi category and sizes held come from the Coveti catalogue on 07 November 2026. Where the house does not state a detail, the cell says so. We did not re-measure the garments.
Stretch lace around the world
US. Resort lands as the holiday party run begins, so the Cupped Dress in Teal and the Singlet Mini Dress fit straight into December. Sizing converts at minus four: a UK 8 is a US 4.
UK. Winter calls for lace with cover: the Tucked Skirt with a fine knit by day, the Cupped Bodysuit under a long coat at night. UK sizes read directly.
EU. French sizing is UK plus 28, so a UK 8 is an FR 36 and an IT 40. Rust suits the early spring wedding calendar in southern Europe.
GCC. In the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar the winter season from November to March is the busiest for evening events. The Tucked Column Skirt offers full length for occasions that ask for coverage, and the bodysuits layer under a long jacket for private dinners.
How to care for stretch lace
The house labels every lace piece dry clean only. Hang the skirts by the waistband and fold the bodysuits flat so the spandex is not pulled by its own weight. Keep the lace away from pronged jewellery and rough bag hardware, and close the zip before storing so its teeth do not snag the motif.

Frequently asked questions
Is Alex Perry stretch lace see-through?
It is sheer in places, by design. The Resort 2027 lace is dual-layer, so where the jagged floral motif overlaps the net the cover is denser. The skirts are unlined, so plan a slip beneath them for daytime, and a seamless nude layer under the bodysuits when you want less skin.
Is Alex Perry true to size?
Coveti’s read is that Alex Perry runs true to size. The stretch lace pieces contain 11.3% spandex, so they are more forgiving than the boned corsets. The official chart covers UK and AU 4 to 20, equal to US 0 to 16, and Coveti holds the lace in UK 4 to 18.
Can you wear a lace skirt to a wedding?
Yes, as long as the colour does not compete with the bride. Rust and Teal are safe choices for a guest. Bare is a pale blush nude that can read as ivory in photographs, so keep it for parties and dinners rather than for weddings.
What do you wear with a lace bodysuit?
A high-waisted skirt, tailored trousers and an open jacket all work. Try the Alex Perry Singlet Bodysuit with a single-breasted blazer by day, and the Cupped Bodysuit with the Tucked Column Skirt for an evening look that reads as a gown from across a room.
How do you clean stretch lace?
Alex Perry labels its Resort 2027 stretch lace dry clean only. Between cleans, fold bodysuits flat, hang skirts by the waistband, close zips before storing and keep the lace away from jewellery with prongs and rough bag hardware, which can catch the open floral motif.
What colours does the Alex Perry Resort 2027 lace come in?
Three: Bare, a pale blush nude; Rust, a burnt copper orange; and Teal, a deep blue green. Only the knee-length Tucked Skirt comes in all three. The Cupped Dress is Teal only, and the Singlet Mini Dress and Asymmetric Skirt are Bare only.
