Aquazzura Bow Tie Pump: Heel Heights, Colours and Fit
The Aquazzura Bow Tie Pump is the newest signature style from the Florence shoe house Edgardo Osorio founded in 2011: a pointed-toe pump named for its bow, made in Italy and stocked at Coveti in 105 mm, 85 mm and 50 mm heels from $1,240. You can see every colourway on the Aquazzura brand page and in our designer pumps edit, and the full guide to Aquazzura heels covers the rest of the line.

What is the Aquazzura Bow Tie Pump?
It is a closed pump with a pointed toe and a slim stiletto, finished with the bow that gives the style its name. Aquazzura, the label Edgardo Osorio launched in 2011 with a first shoe collection in 2012, names only a handful of styles as house signatures. The Sexy Thing 105 and Wild Thing 105 are strappy sandals, the Christy Flat and Powder Puff came after, and the Bow Tie Pump is the most recent addition to that list.
That matters for a buyer. A signature style is one a house keeps in the line season after season, adding colours rather than retiring the shape. The Bow Tie already runs across three heel heights, a ballet flat and a mesh slingback at Coveti, which tells you it is built to stay.
How a Bow Tie Pump is made
Aquazzura works with Tuscan shoemaking workshops and makes its shoes mostly by hand. The house says a pair can take up to six months from first idea to finished shoe and can contain up to 30 components. Every Bow Tie Pump we stock follows the same build: an upper in suede, velvet, leather, polyester (on the Dusty Rose) and mesh (on the slingback), a goat leather lining, a padded leather insole and a calf leather sole stamped with the golden pineapple logo. The pineapple is a symbol of hospitality and a lucky charm, and it appears on every Aquazzura sole.
Which heel heights does the Bow Tie Pump come in?
Three. Aquazzura names its heels by height, so the Bow Tie Pump 105 has a 105 mm heel, the 85 has an 85 mm heel and the 50 has a 50 mm heel. Here is what Coveti has in each.

Bow Tie Pump 105
The tallest version is the one for evening. At 105 mm it puts real height under you, and the pointed toe lengthens the line of the foot further. The Bow Tie Pump 105 in black velvet is the pair we would pick for black tie: velvet absorbs light, so the bow reads as a soft shape rather than a shine. The Bow Tie Pump 105 in black suede is the daytime counterpart and sits in the Aquazzura Essentials line, the shapes the house keeps in permanent colours. For a dress code to match, our black tie dresses guide has the gowns.
Bow Tie Pump 85
The 85 mm is the widest run at Coveti, with eight colourways. It is high enough to feel dressed and low enough for a long dinner on your feet. The Bow Tie Pump 85 in Dusty Rose is the new colour from the Fall Winter 2026 collection, a muted pink that works with grey tailoring and camel coats. The Bow Tie Pump 85 in Espresso suede is the brown we reach for with denim and knitwear.
Bow Tie Pump 50
The 50 mm sits between a kitten heel and a mid-heel. It is the office version and the one for anyone who walks between meetings. The Bow Tie Pump 50 in Mezzanotte Navy is a deep navy suede that reads almost black by night, which makes it easy to wear with black, navy and grey. If you like this height, our designer kitten heels edit shows the low-heel field across other houses.
Colours and materials
Most Bow Tie colourways are cut in kid suede, a soft, fine-napped leather that takes colour deeply. That is why the Lipstick red and the Mezzanotte Navy look so saturated. Velvet appears on black only, in the 105, the 85 and the ballet flat. Smooth white leather covers the bridal pairs, and the Dusty Rose 85 uses a polyester upper.
Black: suede, velvet and mesh
Black is the most complete run, with eight pairs across every height. Suede is the everyday choice. Velvet is for evening and the colder months, and the Bow Tie Mesh Pump 105 opens the back into a slim slingback strap with a mesh and suede upper, so it reads lighter and suits the shoulder seasons.
Lipstick, Nude and the neutrals
Lipstick is a true red suede, available in all three heights and in the ballet flat. The Bow Tie Pump 105 in Lipstick is the most decisive shoe in the family; wear it with black, navy and cream and let it do the work. Nude comes in the 105 and 85 and blends with bare legs, which visually lengthens the leg. Espresso is the warm brown and Mezzanotte Navy the cool dark neutral.
Does the Aquazzura Bow Tie Pump run large?
Many colourways do. Aquazzura lists most of its styles as true to size, but marks a small group as fitting large with the advice to take a half size smaller. Several Bow Tie Pumps are in that group: every 105 mm pair, six of the eight 85 mm pairs, the mesh slingback and the two suede ballet flats. The 50 mm pumps, the Mezzanotte Navy 85, the White 85 and the velvet ballet are listed true to size.
Coveti stocks whole EU sizes 35 to 42 only, so a half size down is not on offer. If you are between sizes in a fit-large pair, take the lower whole size. If you are a firm whole size, start with your usual size and use a thin insole if the heel slips. Italian sizing is EU sizing, so an EU 38 is a UK 5 and a US 8. Our Aquazzura size guide has the full conversion chart and fit notes by style.
The Bow Tie Ballet
The Bow Tie Ballet takes the same bow and puts it on a ballet flat with a low, rounded line and a 5 mm heel. It is the flat version of the signature rather than a separate idea, and it is the cheapest way into the Bow Tie family at Coveti. The Bow Tie Ballet in black suede costs $1,050 and is part of the Essentials line; the velvet version costs $1,100 and the Lipstick suede $1,050. Each has a padded leather insole and the pineapple logo on the sole. For the rest of the house’s flat shapes, from loafers to espadrilles, see our Aquazzura flats guide.
How to wear bow heels for autumn winter 2026/27
A bow is a decorative detail, so the outfit around it should be plain. Bow heels look best when the bow is the only ornament from the knee down.
With tailoring
Wear the 85 mm in black suede, Espresso and Dusty Rose with straight trousers that break on the top of the foot. The pointed toe shows, the bow sits just above the hem and the trouser keeps the look sharp. Cropped trousers suit the 50 mm, which puts the bow at eye level when you sit.
With dresses and skirts
Midi skirts in wool and satin pair well with the 105 mm in velvet. Keep tights sheer and black, since opaque tights flatten the shape of suede. For a party, Lipstick suede with a black slip dress is the simplest strong look of the season. More evening pairs sit in our party shoes edit.
With denim
The Bow Tie Ballet in black suede is the easy partner for straight jeans and a long coat. The Espresso 85 does the same job with more height.
Is there a white Bow Tie Pump for brides?
Yes. The Bow Tie Pump 105 in White is cut from nappa leather and sits in the Aquazzura Bridal Collection, and the Bow Tie Pump 50 in White is the lower bridal option. Both cost $1,240 at Coveti. The 105 carries the fit-large note; the 50 is listed true to size. A White 85 in smooth leather also sits in the Essentials line. For satin bridal styles with the light blue sole, read our Aquazzura bridal shoes guide.
