What is the Brandon Maxwell Resort 2027 collection?

Brandon Maxwell, born in Longview, Texas in 1984, launched his womenswear label in New York in 2015 after working as Lady Gaga’s fashion director. He won the CFDA Swarovski Award for Womenswear in 2016 and was named CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year in 2019. Silk stretch charmeuse

Charmeuse is a satin weave silk with a liquid drape and a dull back. Here it is 93% silk and 7% elastane, which lets a cowl neck and a long skirt sit close to the body without pulling. It is the cloth of the Wynn, Axel, Pippa, Romy, Remy and Conley.

Wool and silk

A structured blend of 77% wool and 23% silk carries the tailoring: the Briar tank, the Robbie mini dress, the Rone pencil skirt, the Irving trouser and the Shelton jacket. Wool gives the seams their hold, and the silk adds a faint sheen to the surface.

Silk crepe de chine and silk satin

Crepe de chine is a light, matte, finely crinkled silk, used for the Wren halter slip and the tea length Caftan Dress. The Cress cropped pant and Stella mini short are in crepe back silk satin, 100% silk, with a shine on one face and a crepe texture on the other.

Cotton voile with lace

Voile is a light, sheer plain weave cotton. The Barrett tuxedo shirt and Tommy skirt pair it with silk lace, the Rooney slip dress with polyester lace, and the Wilder pant finishes its hems in lace. The Maddox tuxedo shirt goes sheerer still, in silk organza with a pleated cotton bib.

Compact viscose knit, cashmere, nappa and denim

The Maude bodysuit, Billie top, Hendrix skirt and Tatum rib dress are in compact viscose knits that hold a close line. The Tate cardigan and Blythe tank are 86% cashmere and 14% silk, while the Maris sweater and Winsor knit jacket are 100% cashmere. Cashmere comes from the undercoat of cashmere goats. The Bennett cropped trench and Perry pant are nappa lamb leather, and the Lowry jean and Hayes jacket are cotton denim.
