How to Set a Versace Watch: Time, Seconds and Dylos Disks

To set a Versace watch, pull the crown out to its outer stop, turn it until the hands show the right time, then push it back in until it sits flush against the case. Every Versace watch for women at Coveti is a Swiss quartz watch with no date window, so there is only one setting position to find. Shop the full Versace collection, browse all designer watches and compare models in our Versace watches for women guide.

  • Versace watches are Swiss made under licence by Vertime SA in Lugano, the Swiss luxury division of Timex Group.
  • All 46 Versace watches for women at Coveti use Swiss quartz movements by Ronda.
  • None of them has a date window: 41 are two-hand watches, 3 have a seconds hand and the 2 Dylos models show the time on rotating disks.
  • The crown has two positions on these models: pushed in (running) and pulled out (setting the time).
  • Push the crown fully home after setting. A crown left out lets water reach the movement.

How do you set the time on a Versace watch?

Most Versace watches for women are two-hand quartz watches, which makes setting them a thirty-second job.

  1. Find the crown, the small knurled button on the right side of the case. On jewellery models such as the Greca Goddess it is small and sits close to the case, so use a fingernail under the edge.
  2. Pull the crown gently out until it clicks to its outer stop. Do not force it beyond that click.
  3. Turn the crown until the hour and minute hands show the right time. Turn it forwards, past the minute you want, then back to it. This takes up any slack in the gears so the minute hand sits exactly on its marker.
  4. Push the crown back in until it sits flush with the case. The watch is now running.

That is all there is to it on the Greca Goddess, Medusa Eclipse, V-Square Petite, Versace Mosaic, Millenyium Lady, Greca Edge, V-Libra and the other two-hand models in our edit.

How do you set a Versace watch with a seconds hand?

The V-Arcadis and the Greca Time Diamond have a third hand for the seconds. Wait until the seconds hand reaches 12, then pull the crown out: on most Swiss quartz movements the seconds hand stops while the crown is out. Set the hours and minutes as above, then push the crown back in on a time signal, such as the minute changing on your phone. The watch restarts from zero and you are accurate to the second.

How do you set the Versace Dylos?

The Dylos does not have conventional hands. It shows the hours and minutes on rotating disks behind a window in the dial, driven by a Ronda 712 Swiss quartz movement. Setting it works the same way: pull the crown out, turn it until the window shows the right hour and minute, then push it back in. Turn slowly, because the disks move in steps and are easy to overshoot.

How do you set a Versace watch with a date?

The Versace watches for women at Coveti have no date and no chronograph, but some Versace models elsewhere do. On a quartz watch with a date, the crown usually has three positions: pushed in to run, pulled to the first click to change the date, and pulled to the second click to set the time. Avoid changing the date late in the evening, when the movement is already turning it over. On a chronograph, the pushers start, stop and reset the stopwatch hands, and they are separate from the crown. These are general rules for Swiss quartz watches, so check the instruction booklet in the box for your exact model.

Why will my Versace watch not set, and what should I do?

  • The hands do not move when you turn the crown. The crown is not fully out. Pull it until you feel the click.
  • The watch has stopped completely. On a quartz watch this almost always means the battery is flat. Have it changed by a watch specialist, who can also check the seals so the water resistance holds.
  • The watch loses time after a knock. Quartz watches are robust, but a hard drop can shift a hand. Take it to a watchmaker rather than prising at the crystal.
  • Water in the case. Usually the crown was left pulled out. Take it to a watchmaker straight away.

Every Versace watch at Coveti is 100% authentic, verified by Coveti, and arrives with its Versace packaging and paperwork.

How do you care for a Versace watch?

Wipe the case and bracelet with a soft, dry cloth, and keep the watch away from magnets and extreme heat. Versace rates its watches for women to 3 ATM (light splashes, hand washing) and 5 ATM (more margin), and we would take any jewellery bracelet off before swimming. Gold-tone IP-plated cases and bracelets keep their colour longer when they stay clear of perfume and hand cream, so put the watch on last. For the full spec of each model, from case size to water resistance, read our Versace watches buying guide, and pair yours with a Greca cuff from the Versace jewellery guide.

Frequently asked questions

How do you set the time on a Versace watch?

Pull the crown out to its outer click, turn it until the hands show the correct time, then push it back in flush with the case. Versace watches for women at Coveti are Swiss quartz watches with no date, so the crown has only one setting position.

Does a Versace watch have a date setting?

None of the Versace watches for women at Coveti has a date window. On Versace models that do, the first click of the crown usually changes the date and the second click sets the time. Check the booklet for your model.

Why has my Versace watch stopped?

A stopped quartz watch almost always needs a new battery. Have it changed by a watch specialist, who can also check the seals so the water resistance holds.

What movement is in a Versace watch?

The Versace watches for women at Coveti use Swiss quartz movements made by Ronda, including the Ronda 762, 751, 1032, 763 and 712. Versace watches are Swiss made under licence by Vertime SA, part of Timex Group.

Can you swim with a Versace watch?

Versace rates its watches for women to 3 ATM and 5 ATM. Both cope with rain and hand washing, but we recommend taking the watch off before swimming, and always pushing the crown fully in after setting.
