What is the difference between Versace and Versace Jeans Couture?
The two share a name, a Milan headquarters and a set of symbols, but they are made for different jobs. The main Versace line is the house at full strength: silk twill printed in Barocco, metal mesh gowns, the La Medusa bag, Medusa 95 heels and jewellery, designed by the creative studio and shown on the runway. Versace Jeans Couture is a diffusion line, a second label built for a wider and younger audience, with jeans, sweatshirts, logo T-shirts and accessories at lower prices.

How do you tell Versace Jeans Couture from main-line Versace?
Read the label first. A main-line piece carries the Versace label, often with the Medusa. A diffusion piece says Versace Jeans Couture on the label. The Medusa head, framed by the Greca key, is the main line’s signature; for what the symbol means, read our guide to the Versace Medusa logo. The fabric is the next clue. Main-line Versace lists silk, leather, metal mesh and fine wool, while diffusion pieces lean on cotton jersey, denim and synthetic leather. Every Versace piece at Coveti is 100% authentic, verified by Coveti, and every one of them is from the main line.
Why is Versace Jeans Couture being discontinued?
On 5 March 2026, presenting its plans for Versace, the Prada Group said that Versace will discontinue all of its secondary lines, including Versace Jeans Couture, and move its production into the group’s own manufacturing. The same plan confirmed the return of Atelier Versace, the couture line. The aim is a single, more focused Versace, with Pieter Mulier as chief creative officer from 1 July 2026 and his first collection expected in early 2027. Our explainer on who owns Versace covers the Prada Group deal in full.
Is Versace Jeans Couture real Versace?
Yes. Versace Jeans Couture is a genuine Versace label, but it is not the same as the main line. Think of it the way you would think of any diffusion line: the name and the codes are real, the materials, the construction and the price are a step below. If you want the Barocco silk, the Medusa hardware and the runway cut, the main line is what you are looking for.
Where can you buy main-line Versace?
Coveti carries more than 1,100 pieces of main-line Versace for women, from printed silk shirts to watches and jewellery. If Versace is the look but not the label you want, our list of brands like Versace has twelve houses with the same appetite for glamour.
