Moon Boot Size Guide: Are Moon Boots True to Size?

Moon Boot sizing works on two systems: the Icon, Icon Low and EVX are sold in multisize EU ranges such as 39 to 41, and the house recommends sizing up, while the other lines come in single EU sizes with their own fit advice. Every pair in the Moon Boot collection at Coveti carries that advice, from women’s designer boots like the Icon Nylon Boots in White, sold in ranges from 35 to 38 EU up to 48 to 50 EU, to the slippers and sneakers.

The short answer, then. Moon Boots are not true to size across the board. For the multisize Icon family, take the range above your usual size: the house’s own example is that an EU 38 should choose 39 to 41. Moon247 sneakers and Mezzaluna boots fit large, so go half a size down. Slippers, Combat boots and ballerinas fit true to size. On LTrack, if you are between sizes, go one size up.

How multisize works

The Icon is a soft, tall boot with no left and no right, closed by a drawstring around the leg. It does not need to fit closely, so the house sells it in bands that each cover two to four European sizes: 35 to 38, 39 to 41, 42 to 44, 45 to 47 and 48 to 50, with a 36 to 38 band on some styles. The EVX mules are banded in pairs instead, from 35 to 36 up to 45 to 46.

The house’s advice for these is explicit. On the product page it says: “We recommend sizing up: for example, if you are usually an EU 38, choose an EU 39-41”. It describes the fit as generous and loose, says the foam lining moulds to the foot over time, and suggests the boots suit average to wide feet. If your feet are narrow, the house’s tip is thicker socks, which take up the room without changing the band.

In practice, that means the band you pick is not the one your usual shoe size sits in, if your size is the top number of a band. An EU 38 sits at the top of 35 to 38, and the house moves you up to 39 to 41. The same reading applies one band higher: a usual EU 41 sits at the top of 39 to 41, which points to 42 to 44. The house gives only the EU 38 example, so treat the second case as our reading of its rule.

The Icon Low Nylon Boots in Black, at $380 at Coveti, follow the same banding as the tall boot, and so do the satin, faux-fur and shearling versions of both. The EVX boots, like the EVX Suede and Shearling Boots in Brown at $540 at Coveti, are banded too.

Converting multisize to US and UK sizes

The house prints a conversion for its multisize bands on every Icon product page, and it is the first table below. For US women, 35 to 38 EU covers sizes 4.5 to 7, and 39 to 41 EU covers 8 to 9.5. In UK sizes, those two bands are 2.5 to 5 and 6 to 7.5. The chart also gives a foot length for the longest foot each band is cut for: 22.2 cm for 35 to 38, 23.3 cm for 39 to 41 and 25.1 cm for 42 to 44.

A word of caution on those centimetres. The house’s single-size chart for its Moon247 sneakers gives an EU 38 as 24.1 cm, longer than the multisize band’s 22.2 cm, so the two charts measure in different ways. Do not cross-read centimetres between a multisize boot and a single-size shoe. For the Icon family, start from your usual EU size and apply the size-up rule.

Single-size lines and their advice

Everything outside the Icon and EVX families is sold in single EU sizes, mostly 35 to 47 for the sneakers, Combat boots, Mezzaluna and slippers, and 35 to 42 for the LTrack boots we stock. Each line has its own advice in the Size and Fit tab, and the differences matter.

Moon247 sneakers and Mezzaluna: half a size down

The house says both fit large to size and recommends a half size down; if you are between sizes, take the smaller one. That covers the Moon247 XLace Mid Sneakers in Black at $450 at Coveti and the Mezzaluna Mid Boots in Brown at $410 at Coveti. The Moon247 chart reads EU 35 as UK 2.5 and US women’s 4.5, EU 38 as UK 5 and US 7, EU 41 as UK 7.5 and US 9.5, and EU 47 as UK 12 and US 14.

LTrack: between sizes, one size up

LTrack is the exception among the single-size lines: if you fall between two sizes, the house says go one size up, not down. The LTrack Tina Boots in Black, at $460 at Coveti, are a good example, and the extra room leaves space for a thick sock.

Combat boots, slippers and ballerinas: true to size

The house says these fit true to size, and between sizes it recommends the smaller. That applies to the Combat Boot Nylon in Black at $460 at Coveti, to the Soft Slipper in Pink at $300 at Coveti and to the Shearling Ballerinas in Black at $340 at Coveti. Our guide to Moon Boot slippers and mules has more on the indoor styles.

Reading the tables

The first table is the house’s conversion chart for its multisize bands, with US men’s sizes alongside US women’s. The second groups our 149 pairs by line and gives the size run most pairs in that line are made in, with the advice printed on each pair. Read across a row and you have the whole decision: the Icon Low runs from 36 to 38 EU up to 45 to 47 EU and says size up; the LTrack boots run 35 to 42 EU and say one size up between sizes; the Moon247 sneakers run 35 to 47 EU and say half a size down.

Two practical notes follow from the second table. If you wear a large women’s size, the single-size lines stop at 42 on LTrack, while the multisize Icon goes up to 48 to 50 on the nylon boots. And if you are buying two lines at once, say an Icon Low and a pair of Moon247 sneakers, expect to order different numbers for the same foot.

Multisize EU UK US women US men Foot length up to
35 to 38 2.5 to 5 4.5 to 7 3.5 to 6 22.2 cm
39 to 41 6 to 7.5 8 to 9.5 7 to 8.5 23.3 cm
42 to 44 8 to 9.5 10 to 11.5 9 to 10.5 25.1 cm
45 to 47 10.5 to 12 12.5 to 14 11.5 to 13 27.4 cm
48 to 50 13 to 15 15 to 17 14 to 16 31.5 cm

How we measured: the conversion is Moon Boot’s own multisize chart, printed on every Icon product page on moonboot.com (read 1 November 2026); foot length is the longest foot each range is cut for. The second table groups the 149 pairs Coveti added the same day by line, with the size run most pairs in that line are made in and the advice printed in each pair’s Size and Fit tab.

Moon Boot sizing around the world

United States. Sizing is a real question here: Moon Boot sizing draws about 1,000 searches a month in the US, and are Moon Boots true to size another 40. US women need the conversion most, because the boxes print EU bands. A US women’s 7 sits at the top of 35 to 38, so the house’s size-up rule points to 39 to 41, which covers US 8 to 9.5.

United Kingdom. About 210 searches a month for Moon Boot sizing. UK sizes are on the house’s chart: UK 2.5 to 5 is 35 to 38, UK 6 to 7.5 is 39 to 41. A UK 5 is the EU 38 in the house’s own example, so 39 to 41 is the band.

Europe. Continental buyers read the bands directly. Germany adds about 50 searches a month for Moon Boot Größe in German, small next to its 90,500 searches for the brand. The size-up advice applies just the same.

The Gulf. Buyers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia are often buying for a ski trip to the Alps, not daily wear at home. Size for the socks you will actually wear in the mountains: a thick ski sock takes up the generous Icon fit, which is one more reason to follow the house and size up. Our après-ski outfit guide covers the rest of the packing list.

If a pair does not fit, our returns page explains the process. For the history of the boot, see who makes Moon Boot, and for help choosing a style before you size it, our Icon vs Icon Low guide. Every line is on the Moon Boot brand page.

Frequently asked questions

Are Moon Boots true to size?

It depends on the line. The multisize Icon, Icon Low and EVX styles are generous, and the house still recommends sizing up: an EU 38 should choose 39 to 41. Moon247 sneakers and Mezzaluna boots fit large, so go half a size down. Slippers, Combat boots and ballerinas fit true to size, and LTrack goes one size up between sizes.

Should I size up in Moon Boots?

For the multisize Icon, Icon Low and EVX styles, yes. The house says if you are usually an EU 38, choose an EU 39 to 41. The fit is loose and the foam lining moulds to the foot over time, so the larger band is the one the house designs around. Do not size up in Moon247 sneakers, which fit large.

What size Moon Boot is a US 7?

A US women’s 7 sits at the top of the 35 to 38 EU band on the house’s chart. Following the house’s advice to size up, the band to choose is 39 to 41 EU, which covers US women’s 8 to 9.5. On single-size Moon247 sneakers, a US women’s 7 is an EU 38, and you would take half a size down.

Do Moon Boots work for narrow feet?

The house says its multisize boots suit average to wide feet, and recommends thicker socks for narrow feet. The drawstring around the leg also lets you close the shaft more tightly. If you want a closer fit from the start, the single-size lines such as Combat and LTrack are sold in individual EU sizes.

Do the Moon Boot LTrack boots fit like the Icon?

No. LTrack boots come in single EU sizes, not multisize bands, and the house’s advice is different: if you are between sizes, take one size up. The LTrack styles we stock run from 35 to 42 EU. The Icon, by contrast, is banded in ranges like 39 to 41 and the house tells you to size up.

What does 39 to 41 mean on a Moon Boot?

It is a multisize band: one boot cut to fit European sizes 39, 40 and 41. The house’s chart converts it to UK 6 to 7.5 and US women’s 8 to 9.5. Because the boot has no left and right and closes with a drawstring, one generous size covers the whole band.
