Italian Luxury Menswear / Scarves

Herno Grey Scarf in Cashmere, Men’s Grey Scarves

The Herno Grey Scarf in Cashmere is an authentic men’s Scarves from the Herno Fall Winter 2026 collection, in 100% cashmere. Coveti stocks it with guaranteed authenticity and worldwide shipping. Herno was founded in 1948 in Lesa, on the shore of Lake Maggiore in northern Italy, and it started out making raincoats. Today the house is best known for lightweight down jackets, technical parkas and tailored outerwear that look smart enough for town and still handle the weather.

From Herno, the Lesa-based specialist in technical luxury, comes the Scarf in Cashmere. Scarf crafted from cashmere. This accessory is a refined essential that Herno makes special through its choice of fine materials and a double-face design combining two sophisticated shades. Details include fringed edges and embroidered Herno logo. It adds warmth and a soft texture to any winter coat.

How to Wear the Grey Scarf in Cashmere

  • For the office: Loop the Scarf in Cashmere under a wool coat collar for city days.
  • For the weekend: Keep the palette tonal around the Grey and let the fabric do the talking. Dark denim, a fine knit and clean leather trainers are enough.
  • For travel: Herno builds its pieces to pack and recover well, so this Scarves works on a long-haul flight and straight into a dinner on arrival.
  • Layering: Herno sizes its outerwear to sit over a knit without pulling at the shoulder. If you plan to wear heavy layers underneath, check the garment measurements in the size guide first.

About Herno

Herno was founded in 1948 by Giuseppe Marenzi and his wife Alessandra Diana in Lesa, a small town in Piedmont on Lake Maggiore. The name comes from the Erno, the river that runs through Lesa into the lake. The first Herno pieces were raincoats in cotton treated with castor oil, made for a damp lakeside climate. Through the 1950s the company added cashmere coats, and in 1968 it opened stores in Osaka and Tokyo. For years it also made outerwear for other luxury houses before putting its own name first.

From the 1980s Herno built its reputation on down jackets and parkas in very light nylon, filled with natural down. Claudio Marenzi, the founders’ son, took over in 2007 and refocused the business on the Herno label, with a technical line called Laminar alongside the main collection. The Lesa headquarters now runs largely on its own solar power. Since 2020 the house has added knitwear, accessories and trainers, so a full Herno wardrobe now goes well beyond the coat.

“Herno is the quiet answer to winter dressing. The Grey Scarf in Cashmere is the kind of piece a man buys once and wears for years, because it looks considered over a suit and relaxed over a knit.”

Gemma Deeks, Fashion Editor at Coveti

How Herno Compares

Men weighing up the Herno Grey Scarf in Cashmere usually compare it with a few other outerwear names.
Moncler is the best-known luxury down brand, and its pieces are bolder and more logo-led. Herno keeps the branding to a small metal plate and puts the emphasis on fabric and cut.
Canada Goose is built for extreme cold first, so it is heavier and more expedition in feel, where Herno is lighter and designed for the city.
Brunello Cucinelli shares the Italian quiet-luxury approach at a higher price, with more emphasis on cashmere tailoring than technical outerwear.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Herno Grey Scarf in Cashmere authentic?

Yes. Every Herno piece sold by Coveti is 100% authentic and checked before dispatch, including the Grey Scarf in Cashmere.

How does Herno sizing work?

One size, designed to fit most. Consult the size guide on this page for garment measurements. Herno tailoring and outerwear use Italian menswear sizes. Coveti shows the UK and US chest equivalent, which is the Italian size minus 10: IT 46 is 36, IT 48 is 38, IT 50 is 40, IT 52 is 42, IT 54 is 44 and IT 56 is 46. Order your usual jacket size and check the garment measurements on this page if you sit between two.

What is Herno known for?

Herno is an Italian outerwear house founded in 1948 in Lesa on Lake Maggiore. It is known for very light down jackets in its Nylon Ultralight fabric, technical parkas, refined raincoats and tailored coats, with discreet branding and careful sourcing of materials.

What is the Grey Scarf in Cashmere made from?

The main fabric is 100% cashmere. The full material breakdown is: 100% cashmere. Hand wash cold and dry flat. Fold to store.

How should I care for the Grey Scarf in Cashmere?

Hand wash cold and dry flat. Fold to store. Always check the label sewn inside the piece, which takes priority over general guidance.

Is Herno worth the price?

Herno is usually priced below Moncler and Brunello Cucinelli for comparable outerwear, and it is often chosen for exactly that reason. You are paying for Italian fabric development, light down filling and clean construction rather than a large logo. Herno coats and down jackets are made to last several winters.

Which brands are similar to Herno?

The closest comparisons are Moncler for luxury down, Canada Goose for cold-weather parkas, and Brunello Cucinelli for Italian quiet luxury. Herno is the lightest and most understated of the group.

Does Coveti ship Herno internationally?

Yes. Coveti ships Herno worldwide from our UAE and Australia hubs with express options. Duties and taxes are calculated at checkout based on destination.
