A bustier is a fitted top that ends at the waist and relies on a stretch back. A corset top shapes the waist itself: it has boning sewn into channels, it is cut in panels, and it closes with lacing, hooks and a zip. How to wear a satin corset top
The skirt should be high-waisted and plain. A draped satin maxi skirt with a train turns a corset into a gown; a crepe satin midi skirt makes it a cocktail look.
