Scanlan Theodore accessories cover jewellery, belts, a silk scarf, bags and shoes. Almost all of the jewellery is made in Italy, most of it in gold-plated brass set with glass crystals, enamel and resin, so it is fashion jewellery rather than solid gold. Is Scanlan Theodore jewellery real gold?

No. The metal pieces are brass with a plating: 14k light gold on most styles, 14k gold on the crystal pieces, 18k gold on the Wishbone Huggie Earrings and rhodium on the clear Ice resin pieces. The stones are glass crystals, Preciosa crystals and resin beads, and the Feather Choker is ostrich feather on a grosgrain ribbon. The plating lasts longer if the pieces are kept away from water, perfume and creams.

The belts are sized by waist. XS fits roughly a 65 to 75 cm waist, S 70 to 80 cm, M 75 to 85 cm and L 80 to 90 cm on the adjustable styles; the Twin Saddle Buckle Belt lists one waist measurement per size, from 60 cm at XS to 80 cm at XL. The Athos Belt is one size and adjusts with sliding knots.
