SIR the Label sizes its clothing 0P, 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 rather than in Australian, UK and US numbers. This guide converts every SIR. size, explains the petite 0P cut, and lists the few styles that do not fit true to size. SIR. size conversion chart

The conversion comes from SIR.’s own size chart. In short: SIR 0 is UK 6 and US 2, SIR 1 is UK 8 and US 4, SIR 2 is UK 10 and US 6, SIR 3 is UK 12 and US 8, and SIR 4 is UK 14 and US 10.

SIR. body measurements

These are body measurements in centimetres, not garment measurements, taken from the SIR. size chart.

If your bust and hip fall in different columns, size for the hip in skirts, trousers and bias dresses, and for the bust in fitted tops, bodices and swimwear.

What is SIR. size 0P?

Size 0P is SIR.’s petite cut. The brand designs it for frames under about 5 feet 3 inches (160 cm). The body measurements are only around 2.5 cm smaller than size 0, but the garment length drops by about 7 cm from the waist down and the sleeve by about 5 cm. If you usually have dresses and trousers taken up, 0P saves the alteration. On Coveti it appears as UK 4.

Does SIR the Label fit true to size?

Yes, for most pieces. Almost every product in the current edit carries the brand note “fits true to size, select your normal size”. Silk bias dresses are cut to skim the body, so they move rather than cling. The exceptions are worth knowing:

• The Belle Wrap Mini Skirt in Grey Marle fits oversized, and SIR. recommends one size down.
• The Sabina Gathered Mini Short fits true to size, but SIR. suggests sizing down for less volume through the leg.
• The Milo Shirt and the Emile Short Sleeve Shirt are oversized boxy shirts. Size down for a closer fit.
• Oversized pieces such as the Dylan Blazer and the Marius Sweater are cut big on purpose. Take your usual size for the intended shape.

How SIR. models are sized

SIR. models are typically 175 to 180 cm tall and wear size 0 and size 1. If you are shorter, expect maxi dresses and wide trousers to pool a little more than they do in the photographs, which is where 0P helps. Coveti lists the model height and size on each product page where SIR. publishes it.

Swimwear, knits and jeans

Most SIR. swimwear uses the same 0 to 4 sizing as the clothes, so a SIR 1 bikini is a UK 8. Some swim pieces and knits are sold in letter sizes, XS to L, and a few sarongs and belts come in two bands, XS to S and M to L. The leather belts note that XS to S covers an Australian 6 to 8 and M to L covers an Australian 10 to 14.
