Aje vs Aje Athletica vs Aje Studio: The Three Lines Explained
Aje is no longer one label. Under the Aje name there is the mainline collection, an activewear label called Aje Athletica and an everyday line called Aje Studio. Shoppers search for all three, and the names get mixed up. Here is how the three lines differ, who each one is for, and which one Coveti carries.
Aje: the mainline collection
The mainline is the label Adrian Norris and Edwina Forest founded in Sydney in 2008. It is where the sculpted gowns, corsetry, painterly prints and runway collections live, including the new Resort 2027 collection, Siren. This is the line Coveti stocks, from occasion dresses to knitwear and denim. Our guide to who Aje is covers the story, and the full Aje edit at Coveti shows what is in now.
Aje Athletica: the activewear label
Aje Athletica launched in May 2021 as the house’s first move into activewear. The first collection had 35 styles in Australian sizes 4 to 18, built for running, spin, yoga, Pilates and weight training as well as off-duty wear, and Aje said 70% of its fabrics were conscious choices. Aje describes it as performance wear seen through the eyes of a fashion house. Athletica is sold through Aje’s own stores and website. Coveti does not carry it.
Aje Studio: the everyday line
Aje Studio is the more recent, more relaxed line. It draws on pieces from the Aje archive and keeps them simpler: everyday denim, pared-back dresses and easy separates, sold as its own section on Aje’s website. Coveti does not carry Aje Studio either, but the mainline denim covered in our Aje denim guide fills the same everyday role.
Which Aje line is right for you?
Choose the mainline for an event, a wedding and every statement piece. Choose Athletica for training and weekend layers, and Studio for relaxed everyday basics. For occasion dressing, start with our Aje gowns guide and the Aje wedding guest edit.
Do the lines fit the same?
Mainline Aje uses Australian numeric sizing, and Athletica launched on the same AU 4 to 18 ladder, so your mainline size is the right starting point. Activewear is cut close to the body, so check the fit notes on each piece. Our Aje sizing guide converts AU sizes to UK, US and EU.
