N.Peal Review: Is N.Peal Cashmere Worth It?
Yes, N.Peal cashmere is worth it if you want long-fibre cashmere from a specialist at a lower price than the Italian houses. The knits are dense, the colours deep and the classic shapes stay in the range season after season. This review covers what we see in the N.Peal edit at Coveti, from fine roll necks to outerwear.
The fibre
N.Peal buys cashmere from goats in Inner Mongolia and traces it to the herders. It sets its own standards for colour, fineness and length. Long fibres are what keep a jumper from thinning, and much of the women's range is organic cashmere. See Mongolian cashmere explained.
The knit
The ply is stated on every piece, from superfine cashmere and silk to 9-ply cables. The 1-ply knits are light and smooth; the 2-ply and heavier knits are dense and spring back when stretched. The finishing at the cuffs and hem is neat.
Fit
Classic knits are true to size with a little ease. The superfine range runs closer, and N.Peal itself suggests sizing up there for a looser drape. Relaxed cables are cut generous on purpose. See the size guide.
Pilling and wear
Like all cashmere, N.Peal sheds loose fibres in the first weeks; comb them away and it settles. Read why cashmere pills.
Value
N.Peal sits between high street cashmere and the Italian luxury houses. You pay for traceable fibre, a stated ply and a range you can reorder. For a three-way comparison, read N.Peal vs Brunello Cucinelli vs Johnstons.
What we would buy
- Luna Roll Neck Cashmere Jumper in Black: the fine black roll neck.
- Ivy Cropped Cashmere Cardigan in New Ivory White: a cropped cardigan for high-waisted trousers.
- Adelyn Cable Roll Cashmere Jumper in Cashew Brown: a cable roll neck for real cold.
- Ayla Fur Trim Cashmere Cape in Pebble Grey: a cashmere cape with a rex fur trim.
What to think twice about
If you run warm, the 9-ply knits are a lot of jumper. Fur-trimmed pieces are dry clean only. If you prefer a slouchy, oversized fit, size up in the superfine range.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, for long-fibre cashmere from a specialist at a lower price than the Italian luxury houses.
Does N.Peal cashmere pill?
A little in the first weeks, like all cashmere. Comb the pills away and it settles.
Is N.Peal true to size?
Classic knits are. The superfine range runs closer, so size up there for room.
