About Jimmy Choo
Jimmy Choo started as one man’s workshop. Jimmy Choo, born in Penang, Malaysia, trained at Cordwainers in London and made couture shoes by hand in the East End of the city through the late 1980s and early 1990s, with Diana, Princess of Wales among his clients. In 1996 he and Tamara Mellon, then an accessories editor at British Vogue, founded the ready-to-wear company that carries his name.
