Agua Bendita Swimwear: How to Choose the Bikini and One Piece
Agua Bendita swimwear, sold at Coveti under the luxury line Agua by Agua Bendita, is printed and embroidered swim made in Colombia from 81% recycled polyester and 19% elastane, fully lined, with a choice of leg cuts. The new Resort 2027 pieces sit in our designer bikinis and swimsuits edits and on the Agua by Agua Bendita brand page, and they belong to the Coleccionista Resort 2027 collection.
Key facts
- Agua by Agua Bendita Coleccionista swim is 81% recycled polyester and 19% elastane, fully lined, and made in Colombia.
- The house offers three leg cuts on its swim: American cut, full coverage and Latin cut.
- The Ebano and Durazno one pieces and the Primavera bikini tops carry florals embroidered by hand.
- The Agua by Agua Bendita swim label says hand wash only, do not wring, do not dry clean and keep sunscreen off the fabric.
This guide covers the bikinis and one pieces, how the three leg cuts differ, what the swim fabric does, why embroidery on swim needs care, and how to match each set with a pareo. For more designer one pieces from other houses, see our designer one-piece swimsuits guide.
What is Agua Bendita swimwear made of?
Every swim piece in the Coleccionista collection is 81% recycled polyester and 19% elastane, and every one is fully lined. Recycled polyester swim fabric with elastane holds its shape in the water and dries fast, which matters when a suit moves from the sea to lunch without a change. The lining adds a second layer, so the pale cream and blush pieces stay opaque when wet.
The prints start as hand illustrations before they are put to cloth. On some pieces the house goes further and embroiders the florals by hand, onto the swim fabric itself.
The three leg cuts: American, full coverage and Latin
The house offers three leg options, and the cut matters more than the print when you choose a bottom.
- American cut. A higher leg line that sits up on the hip and lengthens the leg. On the Coleccionista pieces it is used on the Nopal and Magenta bottoms and on the Ebano and Gema one pieces.
- Full coverage. A fuller back and a lower leg line, for anyone who wants to swim, sit and walk without adjusting. The Melocoton Isolda bottom is cut this way.
- Latin cut. The cheekiest of the three, with less coverage at the back. The Promesa Castillo bottom is the Latin-cut piece.
If you are unsure, start with American, the middle ground of the three, which suits both swimming and lying out.
The Coleccionista swim to buy
1. Ebano Isolda One Piece
The Ebano Isolda One Piece is deep navy with florals embroidered by hand, a demi-cup neckline and an American-cut leg. It is the clearest show of handwork on swim in the collection.
2. Gema Nostalgia One Piece
The Gema Nostalgia One Piece is rose pink with the hand-illustrated Nostalgia print, a round neckline and an American-cut leg. The round neck gives more cover at the front than a demi-cup.
3. Durazno Castillo One Piece
The Durazno Castillo One Piece is rose pink with hand-embroidered florals and a straight neckline. It works as a bodysuit under the Lirica skirt from the same print.
4. Primavera Isolda Bikini Top
The Primavera Isolda Bikini Top has a straight neckline and hand-embroidered florals on deep navy. Pair it with the Magenta Isolda Bikini Bottom, an American-cut bottom in the same navy print.
5. Primavera Castillo Bikini Top
The Primavera Castillo Bikini Top is blush beige with hand-embroidered florals and a straight neckline. Its partner is the Promesa Castillo Bikini Bottom, the Latin-cut piece.
6. Zucchini Isolda Bikini Top
The Zucchini Isolda Bikini Top is cream with a demi-cup neckline. It matches the Melocoton Isolda Bikini Bottom, the full-coverage bottom in the same cream print.
7. Nopal Nostalgia Bikini Bottom
The Nopal Nostalgia Bikini Bottom is bottle green with an American-cut leg. Mix it with the cream Zucchini top for a two-print set.
8. Ebano Quebrada One Piece
Already at Coveti, the Ebano Quebrada One Piece carries the Ebano name in the earlier Quebrada print, for anyone who wants an Ebano in a different colour story.
9. Kiwi Brisa Bikini Top
The Kiwi Brisa Bikini Top, also already at Coveti, is from the earlier Brisa print. It pairs with the Jengibre Brisa Bikini Bottom in the same print.
10. Limon Navegante One Piece
The Limon Navegante One Piece is from the Navegante print, which also includes a maxi skirt and several dresses at Coveti, so the suit can anchor a full print wardrobe.

How to care for embroidered swim
Chlorine, salt and sunscreen all break down elastane over time, which is what makes swim lose its grip. Hand embroidery adds a second reason to be gentle, because loose threads can catch. The house label is clear: hand wash only, do not wring, do not dry clean, and keep sunscreen off the fabric.
- Rinse the suit in cool fresh water as soon as you are out of the sea and the pool.
- Press the water out in a towel and lay it flat in the shade to dry. Do not twist it.
- Apply sunscreen before you dress and let it sink in, so it does not mark the print.
- Keep embroidered pieces away from rough pool edges and wooden decking.
Matching swim with a pareo
A pareo is a rectangle of cloth wrapped and knotted at the hip, waist, chest and neck, a garment from Tahitian and Polynesian dress. The house makes them in each print, so a set can be finished in one colour story. The cream Isolda swim goes under the Lavanda Isolda Pareo Midi in cotton and silk voile. The navy Isolda swim goes under the Arte Isolda Pareo Mini in linen. The blush and rose Castillo swim suits the Tierra Castillo Pareo Maxi, with hand embroidery of its own. The full range is in our Agua Bendita pareos and cover-ups guide, and how to tie a sarong shows the knots. For a broader view, see our designer sarongs and cover-ups.
Agua Bendita swim around the world
In the United States, the swim season for most buyers is winter sun in Florida, the Caribbean and Mexico, then the summer at home. The American-cut pieces suit both. In the UK and northern Europe, swim is bought for holidays, so the matching sets and pareos pay off in a small suitcase. Our beach vacation packing list covers the rest.
On the Mediterranean, beach clubs run from lunch into the evening, which suits a one piece worn under a maxi pareo. In the Gulf, the round-neck Gema one piece and the full-coverage Melocoton bottom give more cover at resort pools, with a long pareo for walking through the hotel. In Latin America, the Colombian Caribbean coast around Cartagena, where the house has a store in the historic centre, is hot all year, so swim and a linen pareo cover most of the day.
Agua Bendita swim sizing
Agua by Agua Bendita cuts in letter sizes from XS to XL. On the house body chart an XS fits a 84 cm bust, 65 cm waist and 90 cm hips, and an M fits a 94 cm bust, 75 cm waist and 100 cm hips. The brand gives no advice on sizing up and down, so take your usual size; the models on the product pages are 177 and 178 cm tall and wear an XS. Full charts are in our Agua by Agua Bendita size guide. Bikini tops and bottoms are sold separately, so you can take a different size in each. Use the bust and underbust figures for the top and the hip figure for the bottom.
