Bernadette Antwerp Review 2026: Quality, Fit and What to Buy First

An honest review of Bernadette Antwerp from the fitting room, written after handling the 77 pieces Coveti has in stock on 22 September 2026 and reading every fit sentence the house prints. The short version: the prints and the cloth are the reason to buy, the construction is better than the price suggests, the sizing is honest, and there are three things to be careful of.

What is excellent

The prints, first and always. Because Charlotte de Geyter draws them, they have the looseness of a hand rather than the repeat of a mill, and they are scaled to the garment: a full hydrangea head on the Kane Sweater in Mint Hydrangea Intarsia on Camel, small roses on the Dara Shirt in Lingerie Roses Red on Cream, climbing stems on the Dress Roxette in Rosebranches Red on Black. Second, the cloth: 94 percent silk on the Dara shirt, silk crepe de chine on the peignoirs, a silk, wool and cashmere pointelle on the Kira knitwear/cardigan/" class="cvx-al cvx-al--category">cardigans, RWS virgin wool on the Chuck skirt. Third, the construction the house talks about: the bustiers on the Dress Lena Embroidered in Soft Pink Bouquet Embroidery on Black and the Dress Dette in Rosebranches Red on Black are boned and lined, the bows on the Dress Lina in Morning Mist and Mocha and the Short Dress Will in Icy Pink hold their shape, and everything that should be lined is.

What is good

The knitwear. The pointelle pieces are light and pretty rather than warm, which is the point, and the Katt Sweater in Ruby Red Pointelle at $890 is the best value in the line. The intarsia sweaters are heavier and the Kane Sweater in Mint Hydrangea Intarsia on Camel is genuinely oversized, as the house says. The Camille and Katia skirts have the drawstring at the hip that makes the fit forgiving. The new accessories are made with the same seriousness: the brooches are 18 cm silk blooms embroidered by hand, the bags are lined in silk, the scarves are printed in Italy.

What to be careful of

Three things. The taffeta and moire pieces are polyester blends, which is what gives them their structure, so if you want natural fibre against the skin choose the silk, the velvet and the wool. The socks and long gloves are sold under the Lingerie Rose Cashmere name, but the composition the house prints is a wool and cashmere blend for the socks and a cotton blend for the gloves, so read the label, not the name. And the prints do not come back, which is a virtue until the colourway you wanted has sold through; the house told SheerLuxe it does not carry stock.

Sizing, honestly

The house prints a fit sentence on every page and it is reliable. True to size across the dresses, skirts and tops/shirt/" class="cvx-al cvx-al--category">shirts; the Kane Sweater in Mint Hydrangea Intarsia on Camel, the Pull Sharon in Red Cherries Embroidered on Cream and the Everett Shirt Lingerie Embroidered in Black Lingerie Rose Embroidery on Black are cut oversized on purpose; the Kira Cardigan in Ruby Red Pointelle is the one piece the house says to size down in; the Ezra dresses carry a note to size up if you sit between sizes and the long Chuck skirt a note to size down. Value

Against La DoubleJ and Erdem, Bernadette is priced fairly for what is in it, and below both for a printed silk piece. The best value sits in the recurring shapes, which come back each season and hold their price, and in the knitwear. The least good value is a polyester taffeta piece bought for the fabric rather than the shape; buy those for the bow.

1. Dress Ezra in Hydrangea Green on Black, $1,390

The house’s recurring midi in this season’s hydrangea print. Fitted waist, viscose, true to size with a note to size up between sizes.

2. Kira Cardigan in Ruby Red Pointelle, $1,020

Silk, wool and cashmere pointelle with a button front. The house says it runs large, so take one size down.

3. Pyjama Louis Capri Silk Satin in Lingerie Roses Red on Cream, $1,360

The silk satin pyjama in Lingerie Roses, worn as ready-to-wear. The piece the house is best known for after the George gown.

4. Camille Knee Length Skirt in Check Cream, Brown and Pink, $1,050

The knee-length skirt in RWS wool with the drawstring hip, in the cream, brown and pink check. Fitted, and forgiving because of the drawstring.

5. Wild Rose Brooch in Black, $740

An 18 cm black silk rose with pearl centres, embroidered by hand. Pinned to a plain coat it does the work of a necklace.
