Brunello Cucinelli Size Chart for Men: IT to UK and US Conversions

The Brunello Cucinelli size chart for men is built on the Italian scale, and Coveti converts it on every product page: jackets, coats and knitwear show as UK/US chest (Italian size minus 10), trousers as UK/US waist (Italian size minus 16) and shoes as UK sizes (EU minus 34). Every Brunello Cucinelli piece in our men’s clothing edit follows these three rules.

How does Brunello Cucinelli sizing work for men?

The house cuts its menswear in Italy, mostly in Umbria, and labels tailoring in Italian numbers. A blazer marked 50 in Solomeo is the same garment Coveti lists as a 40 chest. Nothing about the cut changes; only the label on our size selector does. That matters because the first Brunello Cucinelli menswear on Coveti, 51 pieces from the brand’s men’s Winter Edit, uses three different systems depending on the category. If you are new to the line, our guide to Brunello Cucinelli menswear explains how the range is put together before you get to numbers.

The three systems are simple once you know which applies:

Shoes sit on a fourth ladder, the EU scale, which we show in UK sizes. Belts are sold by length in centimetres. Ties, bags and the beauty case are One Size. A note before the tables: the brand publishes no statement that its pieces run small, and none that they run large, so we make no such claim here. Use the conversions, then compare against a garment you already own and like.

Jackets, blazers, coats and knitwear: Italian size to UK/US chest

For tailoring, outerwear and numbered knitwear, Coveti’s conversion is Italian size minus 10. The Tailor blazer and the rest of the suiting run from a 34 to a 50 chest on our pages. Coats start a step lower: the Chevron coat is listed from 32 to 52. The Cashmere sweater runs 34 to 52, and the cardigan and alpaca-blend sweater go up to 54.

The chest number is a size, not a body measurement in inches you should expect the garment to equal. Tailoring carries ease, and the Tailor blazer is described by the brand as having a structured shoulder, wide lapels and a slightly longer line, so the way it sits on the shoulder is the thing to judge. Knitwear in the same number will feel different from a jacket because it is a different garment, not because the scale shifts.

Trousers and denim: Italian size to UK/US waist

Trousers convert at Italian size minus 16. Most styles in the edit run from a 28 to a 44 waist; the no-fade denim trousers and the gabardine ergonomic trousers start at 26, and the double-pleated silk tuxedo trousers stop at 42.

A useful cross-check for suits bought as separates: an Italian 50 jacket shows as a 40 chest, and an Italian 50 trouser shows as a 34 waist. Same label, two different converted numbers, because the two scales were never meant to be read the same way. Plenty of men take a different number top and bottom, which is exactly why the flannel blazer and trousers are sold separately.

Letter sizes: shirts, T-shirts, jersey and leather

Shirts, tees and some outerwear skip numbers entirely. The Sea Island cotton shirt, the pinstripe poplin shirt and the garment-dyed shirts run XXS to 5XL. The jersey mock neck T-shirts run XXS to 4XL. The suede biker jacket, the nubuck blazer with peak lapels and the nubuck shirt-style bomber are also lettered, XXS to 5XL. The Cashmere jersey sweater and its matching trousers go furthest, to 6XL.

Two small reading notes. Coveti lists 3XL as XXXL in the size selector, so look for the triple X. Gloves and the gabardine baseball cap use a short XS to XXL run.

Shoes: EU to UK conversion

Men’s shoes are cut on the EU ladder and Coveti shows them in UK sizes, at EU minus 34. The boots, the Derbys and the nubuck and suede runners come in half sizes from UK 5 to UK 12. The Knit runners come in whole sizes only and run one size longer, to UK 13. Our Brunello Cucinelli shoes guide covers construction and care, and the boots guide covers the shearling-lined styles.

Half sizes follow the same rule, so EU 42.5 is UK 8.5. If you are buying a shearling-lined boot, such as the Suede mountain-style boots, try your usual boot socks with a pair you own before you choose, since a lining takes up room inside any boot.

Belts and One Size pieces

The Reversed calfskin belt is sold by length in centimetres, from 80 to 120 in steps of 5. The simplest way to pick: lay a belt you wear often flat, then measure from the fold at the buckle to the hole you use. Choose the Coveti length closest to that number. Silk ties, the flannel necktie, the flannel bowtie, the nubuck travel backpack, the Country Weekender and the beauty case are all One Size.

How to measure yourself for Brunello Cucinelli

A tape measure and a garment you already wear will tell you more than any chart. Take these with a light shirt on:

  • Chest: around the fullest part, under the arms, tape level across the back.
  • Waist: where your trousers actually sit, which for most men is a little below the navel.
  • Foot: heel to longest toe, standing, late in the day.

Then lay your best-fitting jacket flat and measure across the chest from armpit to armpit, and do the same with trousers across the waistband. Compare those numbers with the measurements on the product page. If you sit between two sizes, the cloth helps decide: a structured flannel blazer is less forgiving across the shoulder than a cashmere jersey sweater.

Buying women’s sizes too?

The women’s Winter Edit boots and the lame leather slingbacks are listed in whole EU sizes from 35 to 41. Women’s clothing has its own conversions, covered in our women’s Brunello Cucinelli size guide. For where each piece ships from and how returns work, see where to buy Brunello Cucinelli. Everything on Coveti is 100% authentic, ships worldwide by DHL Express and FedEx International Priority, and is covered by our returns policy.
