About Moncler
Moncler began in 1952 in Monestier-de-Clermont, a mountain village outside Grenoble, and its name is a contraction of that village. René Ramillon and André Vincent started out making quilted sleeping bags and tents, and the down jacket followed. Moncler equipped the Italian expedition that made the first ascent of K2 in 1954, and it dressed the French alpine ski team at the 1968 Grenoble Winter Olympics. Remo Ruffini took control in 2003 and turned the label into a global luxury house, headquartered in Milan. Moncler Grenoble is its dedicated ski and mountain line, named for the city where the story began.
“Moncler is still the reference point for down. The Geometric Jacquard Wool & Alpaca Blend Jumper in Blue & Red has the technical build of a mountain piece, yet the shape is clean enough for a city winter.”
