From the Alps to Milan
Rene Ramillon and Andre Vincent started Moncler in a mountain village outside Grenoble, and the name is a contraction of Monestier-de-Clermont. The first pieces were quilted sleeping bags and tents. Moncler down jackets equipped the Italian expedition that made the first ascent of K2 in 1954, and the brand dressed the French downhill ski team at the 1968 Grenoble Winter Olympics. The Moncler icons for men

Sizing
Moncler men’s outerwear is sized in numbers. Size 0 is XS (IT 44), 1 is S (IT 46), 2 is M (IT 48), 3 is L (IT 50), 4 is XL (IT 52), 5 is XXL (IT 54), 6 is 3XL and 7 is 4XL. Knitwear, sweatshirts, tees and most ski pants are sold in letter sizes. Moncler gives each piece a fit (slim, regular, loose) and does not ask you to size up, but many men take one size more when they layer a thick knit underneath.
