About Schiaparelli
Schiaparelli is a Parisian couture house founded in 1927 by Elsa Schiaparelli, with Daniel Roseberry as creative director since 2019. Elsa Schiaparelli worked alongside Salvador Dalí and Jean Cocteau, and that Surrealist thinking still runs through the ready-to-wear. It shows up as sculptural tailoring, gilded anatomical hardware and trompe l’oeil detail. Ready-to-wear is made in Italy, and haute couture is made in the Place Vendôme atelier.
The house closed in 1954 and stayed dormant for decades. Diego Della Valle acquired the name and relaunched it in 2012, and Schiaparelli is now a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, the body that governs which houses may use the haute couture designation. The official house site is schiaparelli.com. The fashion house is distinct from the astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli, and from the Mars lander named after him.
