What Point Final is

Saiid Kobeisy is known for gowns, and the main collections still read that way: beaded tulle columns, capes and bows. Point Final goes the other way. Each runway look pairs a jacket, a top and a corset with trousers and skirts, and the brand sells each piece separately, so a look can be bought whole and worn apart. The palette is close to monochrome: Jet Black, ivory and off white, with polka dots in two scales. The dots come large and graphic on scuba and Mikado, and small and soft on tulle and chiffon.

The tailoring is cut close. Jackets are shaped at the waist and flare over the hip; tops end in peplums; skirts are pencil and straight maxi cuts with a slit. The house has carried its gold floral hardware over from couture: a flower clasp closes the hooded jacket, a brooch fastens the satin wrap top, and a floral ornament sits at the waist of the scalloped gown.

How to wear the capsule

Buy the look, then break it up. Every jacket and top here works with plain black trousers you already own. Start with the one piece that carries the idea, such as the peplum top and the cape, and add the matching trousers later.

Let the dots be the only print. The polka dot pieces are graphic, so keep everything else black, ivory and gold. A dotted top with black flares is the cleanest version.
