Taller Marmo Hollywood Nostalgia: The 2026 Edit Explained
Hollywood Nostalgia is the Old Hollywood edit that Taller Marmo curates on its own site: 27 ready-to-wear pieces that gather the silver-screen gowns of Fall 2026 with earlier feathered dresses, sequin columns and kaftans. Every piece is made in Italy. Coveti stocks most of the edit, including the new Marvelous Gown in Latte.
What is Taller Marmo Hollywood Nostalgia?
It is a themed edit, not a runway season, built around the glamour of early cinema and the studio era.
Taller Marmo was founded in 2013 by Riccardo Audisio and Yago Goicoechea, who met as students at the Istituto Marangoni in Milan. They began in Dubai with fluid kaftans drawn from 1960s and 1970s jet-set style, and the label now works between Milan and Dubai. Our profile who is Taller Marmo has more.
Hollywood Nostalgia sits across two moods. The first is the Fall 2026 collection, which the house built on the 1920s and the silver screen: Poiret cocoon shapes, flapper low waists, film-noir sequins and mermaid skirts. The second is a group of earlier pieces that already carried that mood, from feather-edged slips to sequinned disco dresses. Our Taller Marmo Fall 2026 guide covers the season in full.
Which films and eras does the edit nod to?
The names point to silent film, the studio era and the opera house, and the cuts follow the same timeline.
Several names are direct references. The Sunset Boulevard Dress shares its title with Billy Wilder’s 1950 film about a faded silent-film star. The Musidora Gown carries the stage name of the French silent actress best known for Louis Feuillade’s serial Les Vampires. The Casta Diva kaftans take their name from the soprano aria in Bellini’s opera Norma. The 1920 and 1926 Gowns simply name the decade, the same one in which F. Scott Fitzgerald published The Great Gatsby in 1925.
Cocoon coats recall the work of Paul Poiret, the Paris couturier who freed women from the corset in the early twentieth century. Low waists belong to the flapper. Long mermaid skirts, cowl necks and halter backs belong to the screen gowns of the 1930s, and dense black sequins lean towards film noir. For the wider history, read our edit of Old Hollywood glam dresses and our guide to 1920s evening dresses.
What are the signature gowns in the edit?
The anchors are the Notte, 1920, 1926, Musidora, Butterfly, Dragon and Viper Gowns, all from Fall 2026.
Notte Gown
The Notte Gown in Black was, per the house, first worn in New York by Naomi Watts. It joins three textures in a 1920s line: a sleeveless viscose-blend crepe cady bodice, a low-waisted skirt embroidered with maxi sequins and tube beads, and a band of ostrich-feather boa where they meet.
1920 Gown
The 1920 Gown in Antique Bronze is two pieces sold together. A floor-length flared slip in double viscose satin sits under a sheer silk chiffon fil coupe cocoon opera coat, woven in Como with a baroque damask motif and edged in ostrich-feather boa. Our guide to opera coats explains the shape.
1926 Gown
The 1926 Gown in Juniper is cut from sheer silk chiffon fil coupe woven in Como with an Art Nouveau motif. It has a cowl neck, a halter tie, an open back and a long mermaid line that ends in a leaf-shaped train trimmed with fluid fringes. Juniper is the house name for a deep olive green.
Musidora Gown
The Musidora pairs a blouson top with a floor-length mermaid skirt in viscose and silk velvet, finished with a boat neckline. It comes in two colours on Coveti: the Musidora Gown in Midnight Blue and the Musidora Gown in Black, whose wide draped sleeves give the top its volume.
Butterfly Gown
Double viscose satin, a plunging neck, cocoon volume through the blouse and a mermaid skirt with a soft train. Choose the Butterfly Gown in Midnight Blue for a classic night palette, and the Butterfly Gown in Antique Bronze for something closer to old gold.
Dragon and Viper Gowns
Both are cut from stretch viscose-blend crepe cady. The Dragon Gown in Midnight Blue is a high-neck mermaid gown with extra-long kimono-inspired sleeves and a small train. The Viper Gown in Black is a one-shoulder column with a single dramatic floor-length sleeve.
Which pieces carry the most sparkle?
The sequin pieces are the Hollywood Disco Gown, the Dragon Lady Dress and the Firefly Kaftan.
The Hollywood Disco Gown in Multicolor is a fitted hourglass with long sleeves, a plunging neck and a flared skirt, covered in three-dimensional iridescent sequins over tulle and framed in ostrich-feather boa at the neck and hem. The Dragon Lady Dress in Black takes its cue from film noir: a long-sleeved, high-neck column of scale-like sequins over sheer tulle with a small train.
For a looser shape, the Firefly Kaftan in Multicolor carries the same iridescent sequins on a floor-length kaftan, with a matching belt to mark the waist. The earlier disco pieces also sit in the edit. The Ubud Disco Dress is a one-shoulder line of micro metallic sequins over sheer net. For more sequin gowns across labels, see our guide to sequin evening gowns.
What is the new Marvelous Gown in Latte?
It is the newest addition on Coveti: a feather-edged silk gown that the house tags for brides and black tie.
The Marvelous Gown in Latte layers a sheer 100% silk crepe chiffon overlay over a cady slip dress. The neck sits high, closed with a fine row of buttons at the back. The front hem is shorter than the train, and every edge is trimmed in ostrich feather. The lining is 78% acetate and 22% viscose, and it is made in Italy in IT 36 to 48.
Latte reads as a soft ivory cream, which is why the gown works as a bridal look as easily as a black tie one. It sits well beside two other feathered pieces from the edit: the Hollywood Gown in Latte, a long-sleeved V-neck column in crepe cady with six metres of ostrich-feather boa, and the Feathered Eterea Gown, a halter-neck crepe silk chiffon gown with a cape-effect back edged in tonal ostrich feathers. Brides can find more in our Taller Marmo bridal guide.
Which Hollywood Nostalgia kaftans and robes should you know?
The kaftans give the edit a looser fit, usually over a detached slip.
- The Casta Diva Spirito Kaftan in Ivory: a maxi kaftan in soft crepe chiffon trimmed with almost ten metres of ostrich feathers, over a detached viscose-blend crepe cady slip.
- The Casta Diva Sublime Kaftan in Blush: crystal-inspired sequin embroidery on tulle with nearly ten metres of ostrich feathers and a detached crepe cady slip.
- The Sza Sza Fantasma Kaftan in Black: a sheer halter-neck kaftan in metallic organza woven in Como, held by choker-like ties over a detached stretch crepe cady slip.
- The Sza Sza Disco Kaftan in Cipria: fully sequinned with a jewelled halter neck and over ten metres of feather boa.
- The Vedette Dress in Plum: a long-sleeve night robe in silk chiffon with almost nine metres of ostrich feathers, a looped belt and a detached crepe cady slip.
- The Melendo Robe in Lavender & Gold Kiwi: silk velvet devore with gold lurex threads and floral motifs, trimmed with ten metres of ostrich feathers, with a matching slip dress.

How does Hollywood Nostalgia fit?
The sized gowns fit true to size in Italian sizes IT 36 to 48, and Coveti lists them in UK sizes.
The conversion is simple: IT 36 is UK 4, IT 38 is UK 6, IT 40 is UK 8, IT 42 is UK 10, IT 44 is UK 12, IT 46 is UK 14 and IT 48 is UK 16. US sizing runs roughly four below UK, so IT 38 is about a US 2. Many kaftans are one size, which the house says fits comfortably between an Italian 36 and an Italian 48.
Mermaid gowns sit close through the hip, so size by your hip. Kaftans and blouson tops are more forgiving. Models on the brand site stand between 173 and 180 cm, so petite clients should allow for hemming on floor-length pieces. Our Taller Marmo size guide has the full chart. Care is professional dry clean only.
How do you choose the right piece?
Start with the dress code and the climate.
For strict black tie, the mermaid gowns read the most formal. The Viper and Dragon Gowns put all the drama in the sleeve. For an evening wedding as a guest, the 1926 Gown in Juniper and the Butterfly Gown in Antique Bronze keep clear of white and still feel festive. See our edit of black tie gowns for more options.
For a themed party, the Notte Gown and the Hollywood Disco Gown give you the twenties in one piece; our Great Gatsby party outfits guide shows how to finish the look. For a bride, start with the Marvelous Gown, then look at the Hollywood Gown and the Casta Diva Spirito Kaftan.
For a long seated dinner, a feather-edged coat you can take off, like the 1920 Gown’s opera coat, is easier than feathers at the hip. If you want a cape effect without feathers on the body, the Grace Cape Dress in Midnight Blue pairs a sheer silk creponne cape, boa at its hem, with a fitted floor-length slip. Our guide to cape gowns has more.
