The Attico Ornella Sandals: The 14 cm Platform, Every Colour and How to Walk in It

Ornella is the party shoe of The Attico: a stiletto of 14 cm balanced by a tall platform and an ankle strap. The house brought it back for its anniversary capsule, Superattico10, in black and fuchsia satin, and Coveti now carries 7 colours of it, from $1,520 to $1,680. This page explains how the platform changes the height you actually feel, how Ornella fits, and how to wear it.

Key facts

  • At Coveti: 7 Ornella sandals on 24 October 2026, $1,520 to $1,680: 2 from Superattico10 and 5 from earlier seasons.
  • Heel: 14 cm stiletto, balanced by a high platform; ankle strap.
  • Anniversary versions: black satin and fuchsia satin, polyester upper, goat leather insole and lining, cork and leather sole; made in Italy.
  • Fit: regular, per the house; take your usual EU size.
  • Superattico10: The Attico’s 10th-anniversary capsule, launched on 20 October 2026 with a temporary store at Via Adalberto Catena 1 in Milan, open for just over four months (Luxe Digital). The campaign was shot by Drew Vickers at Casa Mollino in Turin (Hypebae).

What makes Ornella

A 14 cm heel on its own is a shoe for standing still. The platform under the toe takes several centimetres off the slope, so the foot sits at the angle of a much lower heel while the leg gets all of the height. The ankle strap holds the foot in place, and the open toe and wide band across the front keep the shape graphic. The house calls it exaggerated, architectural and bold, which is a fair description.

The anniversary satins

Ornella Platform Sandals in Black Satin and Ornella Platform Sandals in Fuchsia Satin are the Superattico10 versions. Satin makes the platform look lighter and suits evening better than leather. Black goes with every gown in the capsule; fuchsia is a statement on its own and matches the hot pink knotted mini.

Sizing

The house marks the Ornella regular fit, so take your usual EU size. It is made in EU 35 to 42 with half sizes at source; Coveti lists the whole sizes. Because the foot sits on a slope, check that your toes reach the edge of the platform without overhanging, and that the ankle strap closes on a middle hole, which leaves room for the foot to swell on a long night. If you are between sizes, the smaller one usually works better on a platform. The house size chart is in The Attico shoe size guide.

The colours from earlier seasons

Before the anniversary satins, the house made Ornella in leather and two-tone combinations, which are listed below with their prices. Leather is the better choice for a summer of weddings, satin for winter parties and black tie.

How to walk in a platform

Take shorter steps than usual and land on the whole foot, not the heel first. Try them indoors on a hard floor before the night. Satin marks with water, so avoid wet pavements; the cork in the sole is light but not waterproof.

What to wear with Ornella

Long dresses that graze the floor, so the platform shows when you move: the satin column, the sequin halterneck. Wide trousers that cover all but the toe. A mini and bare legs for the full effect. For other platforms across the market, see designer platform sandals.
