Who is Sebastian Milano?

Sebastian Milano is an Italian luxury shoe house based in Milan. The story starts in 1970, with a small shop on Via Gesu, one of the streets that make up the Quadrilatero della moda. The shop was well known in the city. It made handmade shoes for the women of the Milanese bourgeoisie, and its reputation was built on shoes for big evenings. The prima at La Scala, the opening night of the opera season, is the occasion the house names itself.

The house has been known since the early 1970s, and its production is 100% made in Italy. Every product page carries the same line: 100% hand-made in Italy. The company behind the label is Sebastian Milano SRL, with its registered office in Parma.

Via Gesu and the Quadrilatero

Via Gesu is one of the streets of the Quadrilatero della moda, the small grid at the heart of Milan fashion. The first customers were local women of the Milanese bourgeoisie. They wanted a pair made to go with a particular dress for a particular night, and that sense of the occasion still shapes the collection.

La Scala and the evening shoe

The prima at La Scala is a night for evening dress, and Sebastian Milano made its name with handmade shoes for exactly that kind of occasion. You can see it in the current line: pointed toes, slim heels, satin and patent leather, buckles in silver and gold. Few of the 23 models Coveti stocks are casual shoes. Even the flats, the Nana slingback, come in black patent with gold buckles.

What happened in 2018?

In 2018 the house began what it calls a rebirth. Angelica Fagioli joined as the new brand director, and she and her team set out to refresh the image of the label while keeping its handwork. The collection that followed kept the Milanese evening shoe at its centre and added a stronger signature: the tassel heel, the Coco heel, a deep palette of burgundy, olive and cream, and a run of numbered limited editions inspired by art and design.

The 2023 showroom

In 2023 Sebastian Milano opened a new showroom in a historic palace behind the Castello Sforzesco. The launch brought together people from fashion, social media and the wider industry. The showroom keeps the brand rooted in the same city as the first shop, a short walk across the centre from Via Gesu.

What does Fem for All mean?

Fem for All is the vision the house uses to describe who its shoes are for. The idea is that femininity is not defined by gender, and that the shoes are designed for anyone who wants to wear them. At source the house offers sizes 36 to 44. At Coveti the range is EU 35 to EU 42, in whole sizes only, so if you wear a larger size than EU 42 the brand itself is the place to look.

Which heels is Sebastian Milano known for?

Two heels define the current collection. The first is the tassel heel, a slim heel finished with a small tassel at the back. The second is the Coco heel, a sculpted metal-tone stiletto that stands at 95 mm. The house also has a flute heel with a tassel on the Rama ankle boot. For a closer look at the first of these, read the Coveti guide to Sebastian Milano tassel heels.

The tassel heel

The tassel appears on the Fifi, Rama, Martine, Vanessa and Stella styles. The Fifi Slingback in burgundy leather is the clearest example: a pointed toe, a slim slingback strap with silver buckles and a 95 mm heel. The Rama Ankle Boot in black nappa carries the same detail on a 95 mm flute heel with gold buckles at the side.

The Coco heel

The Coco heel is a sculpted stiletto in a metal tone. It sits under the Louise and Rene slingbacks and the Karen pump, all at 95 mm. The Karen Pump in black textured patent is the simplest way into it: a closed pump with a pointed toe, so the heel does the talking.

Style Type Heel Price at Coveti
Fifi Slingback, tassel heel 95 mm $910
Louise Slingback, Coco heel 95 mm $830
Karen Pump, Coco heel 95 mm $860
Rama Ankle boot, flute heel with tassel 95 mm $1,030 to $1,090
Jaida Knee-high boot 70 mm $1,240
Judy Over-the-knee boot 105 mm $1,530
Celine Mule 35 mm $710
Nana Slingback flat 10 mm $770

What are the Sebastian Milano limited editions?

Starting with Milan Fashion Week for Spring Summer 2024, shown in September 2023, the house has made one new design for each fashion week. Each design is produced in 99 pairs, and each pair is numbered on the insole. The designs take their cue from art and design history.

Muse came first, a homage to the Philip Treacy hat worn by Grace Jones, made in patent leather with red crystals. Dada followed, a tribute to the Man Ray painting known as The Lips, in black patent with red patent lips at the toe. Eva draws on The Serpent Seduces Eve by Walter Crane, with a gold serpent chain from toe to ankle that comes off to be worn as jewellery. Devalle is drawn from the Devalle settee by Carlo Mollino, in padded red velvet with the stitching left visible on purpose. A fifth, Riva, inspired by De Chirico’s Horses on the Seashore, is sold out at source and not stocked at Coveti.

Coveti carries the Muse Sandal and the Devalle Pump in red velvet, along with Dada and Eva, all at 105 mm. The full story of each one is in the Coveti guide to Sebastian Milano limited edition heels.

What does Coveti stock from Sebastian Milano?

Coveti carries 45 pairs across 23 models for autumn winter 2026/27, drawn from the Fall Winter 2025, Spring Summer 2025, Signature and Limited Edition collections. The split is 13 heels, 12 boots, 10 sandals, 8 mules and 2 flats.

Boots for autumn winter 2026/27

Boots are the strongest part of the edit for the cold months. The Jaida Boot in black nappa is a slouch boot with a softly gathered shaft, a side buckle and a 70 mm heel, and it also comes in burgundy patent, cream shine nappa and taupe nappa. The Amy boot sits lower on a 50 mm heel, and the Judy Over-the-Knee Boot rises above the knee in soft folds on a 105 mm heel. See every pair in Sebastian Milano boots.

Slingbacks, mules and sandals

The slingbacks run from the 35 mm Perla to the 95 mm Fifi and Louise. Mules range from the 35 mm Celine to the 105 mm Frances, and the sandals include the Afrodite in four shades and the Simone in black dupion silk with silver plated chains. Prices across the edit start at $710 for the Celine mule.

How are the shoes made?

Each pair is made by hand in Italy. Most styles are lined in nude leather and finished with a black recycled leather sole, and some, like the Nana and the Martine, use nude goatskin linings with a black leather sole. Uppers include nappa, suede, textured patent, croc print, snake effect, silk satin, dupion silk and velvet.

The house asks that you keep the shoes away from water, sun, heat, oils and alcohol, handle satin, crystals and embellishment with care, and store each pair in its dust bag and box.

Editor’s note: if you only buy one pair, I would start with a tassel heel, because nothing else in the collection says Sebastian Milano as quickly.
