What does the Aje Heirloom print look like?

It looks like a collection of silk scarves laid side by side: square frames, a medallion at the centre of each, and fine paisley style borders in blue on ivory.

Aje names it Heirloom, and the scale changes by piece. On the Auralis Scarf Top a single scarf square becomes the whole garment, cut on the diagonal so the hem falls in points. On the Auralis Pant the squares run down the leg. On the Dive denim the print is darker, a navy and mid blue version laid over the whole garment. The Elara Mini Dress uses a multi colour version, with blush, peach and pale blue panels.

Which Heirloom piece should you buy first?

Start with the Auralis Blouse if you want one statement piece, and with the Dive Denim Shirt if you live in denim.

The Auralis Blouse ($590) has a feature button front, blouson sleeves and a V shaped hem. It works with white jeans, a plain skirt and over a swimsuit. The Dive Denim Shirt ($620) is the most versatile: wear it open over a tee, knotted at the waist, as a light jacket on a cool evening.

Can you wear Heirloom print head to toe?

Yes, and Aje designs it that way: the Auralis blouse and pant are a set, and so are the Dive shirt and pants.

How does the Heirloom denim fit?

The Dive denim is rigid, so it does not stretch: take your usual size, and size up if you are between sizes and want a looser line.

How do you care for the Heirloom print?

Follow the care label, wash the printed denim inside out in cold water, and wash it alone for the first few washes so the indigo does not transfer.
