Avaro Figlio is a couture eveningwear house in Milan, founded in 2009 by co-creative directors Dario Biglino and Sulabh Kalra. The name is Italian for greedy son. It sits in the same register as Zuhair Murad, Elie Saab and Tony Ward, and what sets it apart is the made-to-order model: every piece is made in Italy after you order it. Expect crystal and sequin work, corseted and basque bodices, mermaid and column lines, Chantilly lace and velvet.
