Jacquemus Bags: Every Model Explained
Jacquemus bags fall into six families: the Chiquito and Bambino minis, the Valerie shoulder bags, the Turismo totes, the Rond Carre and Salon clutches, the Bambola buckets, and the Soli and Spiaggia summer baskets. Leather models are made in Italy and start at $980 on Coveti. Raffia and palm pieces start at $720.
Jacquemus is a French house founded in Paris in 2009 by Simon Porte Jacquemus, who was 19 at the time and named the label after his mother’s maiden name. The house makes women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories as well as bags. This guide covers every model currently in the Coveti edit of the Jacquemus collection: what each one is, the measurements the house publishes, what it holds, and the price it starts at. For the story of the label itself, read who is Jacquemus.
The Jacquemus bag line at a glance
The Coveti edit holds 254 Jacquemus bags across more than 50 named models. Almost every leather piece is made in Italy, in calf, goat, cow and lamb leather. The baskets come from two places: the Soli palm baskets are made in Morocco, and most of the raffia Turismo and Spiaggia bags are made in Madagascar. Prices run from $720 for a Small Soli Basket to $4,850 for the walnut wood Bambino Clutch Bag.
The table lists the core models with the dimensions given by the house. Where the house publishes a “this bag can fit” list, it appears in the third column. Where it does not, the column says so, and the sections below give a reading of the size.

The minis: Chiquito and Bambino
The Chiquito is the smallest bag in the line, a top-handle mini that has become shorthand for the house’s sense of scale. The standard size measures 12 x 9 cm and costs $980. It is made in Italy, mostly in calf leather, with a linen version in the mix. The house does not publish a capacity list for it, and at 12 cm across most current smartphones will not go inside. Think cards, a lipstick and a key. The Chiquito Bag in Black is the classic version; The Chiquito Bag in Medium Blue is the louder one.
The Chiquito comes in four more cuts. The Medium Chiquito (18 x 13.5 cm, $1,250) and the Knot Chiquito (same size, $1,360) are the first steps up. The Long Chiquito stretches to 22 x 10.5 cm for $1,200, and the Large Chiquito reaches 22 x 18 cm for $1,450, which is roughly the size at which a phone stops being a squeeze.
The Bambino is the flap bag of the family. The mini Bambino measures 17.5 x 9 cm and starts at $1,090. The Large Bambino (23.5 x 13 x 7 cm, from $1,410) is the one that carries a day’s essentials, and the Coveti edit has it in 18 colourways, more than any model apart from the Small Valerie. There is also a Long Bambino at 28 x 13.5 cm, a Bambino Chaine on a chain strap at 25 x 12 x 5 cm, a Bambino Messenger at 30 x 38.5 x 15 cm, and the walnut wood Bambino Clutch Bag at $4,850, the most expensive piece in the edit. Start with The Large Bambino Bag in Black if the mini looks too small. Browse every small shape under mini bags.
The Valerie family
The Valerie is the most stocked model in the Jacquemus edit. The Small Valerie Bag alone has 23 listings in colours that run through dark yellow, acid green, light pink, white and navy, red and khaki. It measures 24 x 14 x 7.5 cm and, by the house’s own list, takes a cardholder, a smartphone, earphones and keys. Prices go from $1,990 to $2,630, and all 23 are made in Italy, mostly in goat leather with calf and cow leather versions.
The full-size Valerie Bag measures 32 x 20 x 11 cm and adds a small water bottle and a pocket-sized book to that list. It starts at $2,470. The Valerie Bag in Black is the version that works with the most of a wardrobe; The Valerie Bag in Camel is the warmer option for autumn.
Beyond those two there is the Valerie Clutch (27.5 x 14 x 6.5 cm, from $1,840), the Valerie Travel Bag (48 x 39 x 21 cm, $4,070), and the Valerio Bag, a larger shoulder cut at 38 x 26 x 14 cm that holds a 13-inch laptop. Find the rest under shoulder bags.
The Turismo family
The Turismo is the working bag of the line. The Small Turismo measures 26 x 16 x 11 cm and holds a cardholder, a smartphone, earphones, keys and sunglasses. The edit has 16 of them, from $1,680 for leather up to $3,600 for The Small Turismo Bag in Off-White and Black. The Small Turismo Bag in Black is the most straightforward of the set.
The Long Turismo (33 x 18.5 x 11.5 cm, from $1,990) is a shoulder version that takes a small water bottle. The Turismo Bag (39 x 21 x 17 cm, from $2,090) adds a notebook and a pouch. Above that sit the Large Turismo (50 x 32 x 21 cm) and the Turismo Shopper (42 x 39 x 19.5 cm), both cleared by the house for a 13-inch laptop. The Large Turismo also takes a change of clothes, which makes it the one to pick for a short trip. The Turismo also exists in raffia, covered in the Jacquemus raffia bags guide. Compare the bigger shapes in designer tote bags.
Clutches: Rond Carre, Salon and Valerie
The Rond Carre Clutch is a rounded square shape at 27.7 x 17 x 12.2 cm, mostly in lambskin, from $1,520. The edit includes silver and gold versions and one in hagfish leather. The Small Rond Carre Clutch is 19.4 x 12.5 x 6.6 cm at $1,360, and the Rond Carre Bag, at 23 x 16 x 9 cm, puts the same shape on a strap from $1,680.
The Salon Clutch is long and narrow at 35 x 12 x 8.5 cm, in calf leather, from $1,840. The Salon Clutch in Light Pink and the aqua version suit summer evenings. The Large Salon Clutch costs from $2,790, and the Salon Bag (27.5 x 16 x 7 cm, from $2,150) adds a strap. The full range sits under clutch bags.
Berlingot, Bisou and the smaller shoulder bags
The Berlingot Bag is a deep, compact shape at 20 x 13.5 x 13 cm, from $1,610, in calf and lamb leather with a silver version. The Small Bisou Chaine is the slimmest bag in the line at only 2.5 cm deep, on a chain, for $1,040. The Bisou Perle costs $1,140. The Baneto (10 x 20 x 7 cm, $980), the Curvo (22 x 12 x 3 cm, $1,200) and the Correo (23 x 16.5 x 6 cm, $1,450) round out the smaller shoulder styles.
Bucket bags and baskets: Bambola, Soli and Spiaggia
The Bambola is the bucket bag. The Small Bambola measures 24 x 24 x 10 cm in cow leather from $1,520, the Medium Bambola is 34.5 x 41 x 19 cm at $1,930, and the full Bambola is a large carryall up to 60 x 35 x 23 cm. See more in bucket bags.
The Soli Basket (48 x 26 cm, $820) and Small Soli Basket (34 x 17 cm, $720) are made in Morocco, mostly in palm. The Spiaggia bags, in round, square and heart shapes, are 100% raffia and made in Madagascar, from $720. The Soli Basket in Ivory is the plainest of the palm baskets.
