Jacquemus Raffia and Beach Bags
Jacquemus makes its summer bags in raffia and palm. The Raffia Turismo, the Turismo Basket and the Spiaggia bags are 100% raffia and made in Madagascar. The Soli baskets are mostly palm and made in Morocco. On Coveti they cost from $720 for the Small Soli Basket to $2,310 for the Large Raffia Turismo.
Simon Porte Jacquemus founded his label in Paris in 2009, and the house has drawn on the Provence countryside where he grew up ever since. The summer bags are where that comes through most plainly. They are woven, light, sun coloured and built for markets, terraces and the beach. This guide covers every raffia and palm bag in the Coveti Jacquemus edit: what each is made from, where it is made, the measurements, the prices, how to care for it, and what to wear with it.
Raffia and palm: what the bags are made of
Raffia is a fibre taken from the leaves of the raffia palm. It is light, takes dye well and has a dry, slightly papery hand. Jacquemus uses it in two ways. The Turismo and Spiaggia bags are listed as 100% raffia, made in Madagascar. The Soli baskets are mostly listed as 100% palm, made in Morocco, with one Soli in raffia and one in natural palm with cow leather. The two fibres look similar at a glance, but palm is usually the stiffer of the two.
There is one more summer material in the line. The Small Turismo Crochet Bag in White is crocheted in polyamide, made in Madagascar, at $2,310. It reads as a woven bag from a distance and copes better with damp than natural fibre.

The Soli baskets
The Soli is the simplest bag in the summer line and the cheapest way into Jacquemus. The Soli Basket measures 48 x 26 cm and costs $820. The Small Soli Basket measures 34 x 17 cm and costs $720. Both are made in Morocco. The Soli comes in ivory, black, silver and light brown, and the Small Soli adds red. The Soli Basket in Black is the easiest to wear in town, while The Small Soli Basket in Red is the brighter choice for holidays.
Then there are the resort baskets. Four Small Soli Resort Baskets are each named for a summer destination: Monaco, Ibiza, Mykonos and Saint Tropez. Each is palm, made in Morocco, 34 x 17 cm, in a pale yellow named after its place, at $820. The Small Soli Saint Tropez Resort Basket in Saint Tropez Pale Yellow is one of the set. They pair naturally with the Plage resort T-shirts in the clothing line, which carry the same place names.
The Spiaggia bags
Spiaggia means beach in Italian, and these are the most beach-minded bags Jacquemus makes. Every Spiaggia in the edit is 100% raffia and made in Madagascar. The shapes are round, square and heart.
The Spiaggia Small Round Bag starts at $720 in natural, black, white and two natural and black combinations. The Spiaggia Small Square Bag measures 35 x 35 x 10 cm and runs from $880 to $1,680, the top price for The Spiaggia Small Square Bag in White. The Spiaggia Coeur is a heart, 37 cm across, at $820, in red and gold, black and light pink. The Spiaggia Coeur Bag in Red and Gold is the most festive of the three. The larger Spiaggia Round Bag and Spiaggia Square Bag cost $1,040 each.
The raffia Turismo family
The Turismo is the house’s travel bag shape, and in raffia it becomes a summer tote. All the raffia Turismos are 100% raffia and made in Madagascar.
The Small Raffia Turismo measures 26 x 16 x 11 cm and costs $1,520, in turquoise, blue and natural, light pink and beige. The Small Raffia Turismo Bag in Light Pink is the softest of these. The Raffia Turismo Bag is 36.5 x 25.5 x 15 cm at $1,930, in dark green, turquoise, brown, red and beige. The Raffia Turismo Bag in Dark Green is the most unusual colour of the five. The Large Raffia Turismo, 49 x 30 x 18.5 cm, comes in camel at $2,310 and is the one for a day on the beach with towels. See The Large Raffia Turismo Bag in Camel.
The Turismo Basket is an open basket at 31 x 54 cm, in light pink and brown, at $1,360. The Turismo Basket in Brown is the more practical colour for a long summer. The leather Turismo models are covered in the Jacquemus bags guide.
The Bambola in raffia
The Bambola is the house’s bucket bag, and it is large: one version measures 60 x 35 x 23 cm. Four colourways sit in the edit, from $1,520 to $2,310. One is 93% natural raffia, others are polyamide based, and the house lists Madagascar for one and Italy for three. Check the composition on the listing for the version you want. The leather Bambola sizes, including the Small Bambola, are in bucket bags.
Choosing the right size
The summer bags split into three sizes. The small ones, the Small Soli, Spiaggia Small Round and Spiaggia Coeur, hold a phone, sunglasses and a purse, and they work for a market morning and dinner afterwards. The middle sizes, the Soli Basket, Small Raffia Turismo and Spiaggia Small Square, take a towel and a paperback as well. The large ones, the Raffia Turismo, Large Raffia Turismo, Turismo Basket and Bambola, are beach bags proper, with room for a towel, water and a change of clothes. The house does not publish fit lists for the raffia models, so the centimetres in the table above are the best guide.
Caring for raffia and palm bags
Natural fibres need a little more attention than leather, and most of it comes down to water, crushing and sunlight.
- Keep the bag dry. Raffia and palm can lose shape when soaked. If a bag gets wet, blot it with a towel, stuff it with tissue and let it dry at room temperature away from a radiator.
- Store it stuffed. Fill the bag with tissue paper over the winter so the sides keep their curve, and keep it in a dust bag.
- Do not stack it. Heavy things on top of a basket flatten the weave, and palm in particular can crack at the fold.
- Brush sand away dry. A soft brush clears sand and dust from the weave. For marks, dab with a barely damp cloth and dry straight away.
- Limit long sun exposure. Strong sun can fade dyed raffia over time, so store it in the shade between uses.
- Do not overload it. A raffia tote carries towels and a book well. Wet swimsuits and heavy bottles are better in a pouch inside.
The crochet Turismo, in polyamide, is the more forgiving option if damp is likely.
How to wear Jacquemus raffia bags
Raffia sits best with clothes that share its texture and lightness: cotton, linen-weight fabrics, bare skin and sandals. The Jacquemus clothing line has plenty of both.
At the beach
A Soli Basket with swimwear and a wrap is the simplest outfit there is. The Pareo Skirt in Light Pink ties over a swimsuit and pairs with the Spiaggia Coeur in light pink. The edit holds 15 Jacquemus beachwear pieces to build from.
In town
The Raffia Turismo looks sharper with tailoring than it does with beachwear. Wear it with white trousers and a cotton jacket like The Cabana Jacket in White, and the bag becomes the texture in an otherwise clean outfit. Find more under jackets and pants.
Holiday evenings
The Spiaggia Small Round and the Spiaggia Coeur are small enough for dinner. Carry one with a summer dress from designer dresses, and keep jewellery gold to match the red and gold Coeur.
Resort basket and T-shirt
The resort Soli baskets share their place names with the Plage resort T-shirts. The Plage Saint Tropez Resort T-Shirt in Saint-Tropez Patch White with the Saint Tropez basket is a set that knows exactly what it is. More summer outfits are in the Jacquemus summer 2026 edit and how to style Jacquemus.
