How high are Aje heels?

Aje lists a heel height on seven of the 18 styles, and they cluster at two points: 7 cm and 9 cm. The lowest listed heel is 6.5 cm on the Saint Heel Mule. Where Aje has not listed a number, we have not guessed one; the style names tell you the intent instead, so “Low Heel” (Isadore, Liora Strappy Buckle) and “Mid Heel” (Edra, Aestra) describe the position in the range.

What are Aje’s gathered heels?

Gathered leather is the detail most people picture when they think of Aje shoes, and three heel styles use it.

The Clemence Gathered Heel is the family with the widest colour run of any Aje heel on Coveti: Ivory, Black, Chocolate, Chestnut and Beach Beige. It is 100% leather with a gathered upper, a hardware detail and a padded leather insole, and Aje lists the heel at 7 cm. If you buy one Aje heel, this is the most versatile starting point simply because there is a colour for every wardrobe.

The Clara Heel is gathered too, but its hardware is an organic square rather than the Clemence detail. It is 100% leather with a padded leather insole, in Black and Ivory.

The Alessia Heel takes the gathered upper to a thong heel with a square toe and textured hardware. The upper and sole are leather, and Aje lists the heel at 7 cm.

What are Aje’s sculptural and droplet heels?

The droplet heel is Aje’s other footwear signature, and on the Elan it is cast in metal. Five styles here use a sculptural heel.

• Elan Asymmetric Droplet Heel: Gold leather, an asymmetric strap, an ankle strap with an organic metal buckle and a high sculptural metal heel. The most dramatic heel in the range.
• Eternal Sculptural Heel Sandal: an almond toe and a padded leather toe strap over a sculptural heel, in Ivory, Chocolate and Black.
• Earthen Heel Thong: a sculptural droplet heel with a padded insole and shaped footbed. Upper, lining and sole are all 100% leather.

What are Aje’s strappy and evening heels?

For a classic evening sandal, there are two strappy families, plus the Aventura and the Studio thong heel alongside them.

The Liora Strappy Heel has an ankle strap with buckle, textured hardware and a padded footbed, in Gold and Black, both 100% leather. The Liora Strappy Buckle Low Heel moves the fastening to a back ankle strap; the Ivory pair lists a leather upper and lining with a rubber sole, and there is a Black version too.

The Aventura Heel is not strappy but sits in the same evening role, at a listed 9 cm. It has a square toe, a flower hardware detail and a leather padded footbed, with a leather upper and sole, in Black, Champagne Gold and Ivory.

Which Aje heels are mules?

Ten of the 34 heeled pairs are mules, across six styles. They are slip-on, which makes them the easiest Aje heels to put on and take off, and they range from the lowest listed heel (6.5 cm) to the highest (9 cm).

The Saint Heel Mule is the low option for long days. The Aestra Plaited Mid Heel is the mule with the most construction detail: leather upper, lining and sole. The Carmena Ruched Mule Heel in Python is the statement pair, a python-look leather (Aje bans exotic skins) with Aje charms and tassels. The Mirage Woven Sculptural Heel is part of Aje’s Core collection and has double braided straps across the toes and forefoot.

Are Aje heels comfortable?

Aje does not make comfort claims for its heels, and we will not make them on its behalf. What the product notes do list is the cushioning: a padded leather insole on Clemence, Clara, Saint and Alina Wedge, a padded footbed on Liora and Aventura, a woven padded insole on Aestra, and a padded insole with a shaped footbed on the Earthen Heel Thong. A rubber sole is listed on the Ivory Liora Strappy Buckle Low Heel.

Practical rules that apply to any heel help more than any label. A 7 cm heel is a different day from a 9 cm heel, so if you are on your feet for hours, start with the 6.5 cm Saint Heel Mule and the 7 cm Clemence and Aestra.
