Aje Shoe Size Guide: EU, UK, US and AU Conversion

0

Aje sizes its shoes in EU sizes, and almost every style in the range runs from EU 35 to EU 41; the Anais Slide is the one exception, running to EU 42. The guidance on every Aje shoe page on Coveti is to take your usual EU size, and Coveti lists exactly the sizes Aje makes. If you normally shop in UK, US and AU sizes, the conversion table below gives you a starting point.

This guide covers the full conversion, what to do if you are between sizes, how toe shape and fastenings change the way a shoe feels, and how sizing works across the 61 Aje pairs Coveti now carries. For the range itself, see Aje shoes; for clothing sizes, see the Aje sizing guide.

Aje shoe sizing at a glance

  • Size system: EU.
  • Range: EU 35 to 41 on almost every style; the Anais Slide runs EU 35 to 42.
  • Guidance: take your usual EU size.
  • Generic EU to UK: 36 = 3, 37 = 4, 38 = 5, 39 = 6, 40 = 7, 41 = 8.
  • Pairs on Coveti: 61 (34 heels and mules, 16 slides, 5 ballet flats, 4 sandals, 1 trainer, 1 boot).
  • Adjustable styles: Spencer and Renata sandals, Navina and Macy ballet flats, plus buckled ankle straps on the Liora and Elan heels.
  • Listed heel heights: 4.5 cm to 9 cm.

How does sizing work across each Aje shoe category?

Every category in the range uses the same EU ladder. What changes from one category to the next is how the shoe holds the foot, which is the part to think about when you choose a size.

Category Pairs on Coveti EU range How it holds the foot
Heels and mules 34 35 to 41 Ankle straps on Liora and Elan; forefoot strap on the 10 mules
Slides 16 35 to 41 (Anais 35 to 42) Slip-on, strap across the foot
Ballet flats 5 35 to 41 Buckle straps on Navina and Macy; elasticated topline on Carmena
Sandals 4 35 to 41 Adjustable straps; Velcro back strap on Renata
Trainer 1 35 to 41 Lace-up
Boot 1 35 to 41 Long pull-on boot, pointed toe

What size system does Aje use for shoes?

Aje uses EU sizing for its footwear. That is standard for designer shoes, and it means the size on the box is the same wherever you buy it. Every style Coveti carries runs from EU 35, and every style except one stops at EU 41. The Anais Slide runs one size further, to EU 42, across all five of its colourways.

Coveti lists the sizes Aje makes for each style, so the size selector on each product page shows the true range. If your size is not shown on a product, that size is not made in that style, rather than missing from the listing.

How do Aje shoe sizes convert to UK, US and AU?

The table below is a generic conversion for women’s footwear. It is a guide, not an Aje chart: conversions vary slightly between brands and between countries’ own charts, and the EU size is always the one to trust on an Aje shoe. In Australia, women’s shoe sizes generally follow the US numbers, which is why the US and AU columns match here.

EU (Aje size) UK US AU
35 2 4 4
36 3 5 5
37 4 6 6
38 5 7 7
39 6 8 8
40 7 9 9
41 8 10 10
42 (Anais Slide only) 9 11 11

The surest way to use the table is backwards. Find a designer shoe you already own in an EU size and that fits you well, and start from that number. A conversion from a UK, US and AU size is a reasonable first guess; an EU size you have worn is better.

How do you measure your foot for Aje shoes?

If you do not have an EU size you trust, measure. These steps apply to any shoe brand.

  1. Measure late in the day, when feet are at their largest.
  2. Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall and mark the tip of your longest toe.
  3. Measure from the wall to the mark in centimetres. Do both feet and use the longer one.
  4. Compare that length with the size chart of a designer brand whose EU sizes you know, then use the EU number above.

Coveti’s Aje listings do not carry a centimetre foot-length chart, so we do not invent one here. Use the length as a cross-check against a brand you already know.

What should you do if you are a half size?

The Aje range Coveti carries is listed in EU sizes from 35 to 41, so if you are a half size in your usual system you will need to round. General footwear guidance applies:

  • Closed and pointed toes: round up. A closed toe has no room to give at the front. This covers the Edra Mid Heel, the Mirage Woven Sculptural Heel, the Carmena Ruched Mule Heel and the Finn Slouchy Boot, all of which have pointed toes.
  • Open slides and sandals: your nearest whole size is usually the right call, because the foot is not enclosed. Check that your heel sits fully on the footbed.
  • Adjustable styles: the buckle takes up some of the difference in width, though not in length. Choose by length first.
  • Mules: a mule is held on by the strap across the forefoot, so length matters more than in a strapped heel. If your heel hangs off the back, go up.

These are general rules for footwear, not claims about how a particular Aje style fits. Coveti’s guidance on every Aje style is to take your usual EU size.

How does toe shape affect Aje shoe sizing?

Toe shape changes how a shoe feels at the same size, so it is worth knowing which Aje shoes have which toe. Here is what the product notes list.

Toe shape Aje styles What to know
Pointed Edra Mid Heel, Mirage Woven Sculptural Heel, Carmena Ruched Mule Heel, Finn Slouchy Boot The point extends beyond the toes; the fitting area is behind it.
Square Alessia Heel, Aventura Heel, Macy Buckle Slide, Anais Slide More room across the toes than a point at the same size.
Almond Eternal Sculptural Heel Sandal Sits between pointed and round.
Open Zanthe Open Toe Heel Mule, the slides and sandals No toe box to fit; length is set by where your heel sits.

The Edra Mid Heel and the Mirage Woven Sculptural Heel are the pointed heels to try first in your usual size. The Aventura Heel and the Alessia Heel have square toes.

Which Aje shoes are adjustable?

Adjustable fastenings make a shoe more forgiving across the width and the instep. The product notes list these:

The Carmena Ruched Ballet Flat has an elasticated topline instead, which holds the shoe to the foot without a buckle.

How should slip-on Aje shoes fit?

Slides and mules have no back, so the strap across the foot does all the work. Sixteen slides and ten mules make slip-ons a big share of the Aje range, so it helps to know what a good fit looks like in general terms:

  • Your heel should sit on the footbed, not hang over the back edge.
  • Your toes should not reach over the front edge of an open slide.
  • The strap should hold the foot without pinching; you should be able to walk without curling your toes to grip.

The Solana Gathered Slide and the Saint Heel Mule are good examples: both have a padded leather insole, so the footbed position is easy to judge when you try them. For the full slide range, see Aje sandals and slides.

How does heel height affect Aje shoe sizing?

As a general rule, the higher the heel, the more the foot slides forward, which is why the same size can feel snugger in a high heel than in a flat. The heel heights Aje lists in this range are:

If you are buying an Aje heel and an Aje flat in the same order, keep to the same EU size unless you know from experience that you size differently in heels. The Aje heels guide covers every heel style in detail.

How do Aje boots and trainers size?

The trainer and the boot follow the same EU 35 to 41 range. The Valli Lace Logo Trainer laces up, which lets you adjust across the instep. The Finn Slouchy Boot is a long boot with a fixed slouch and a pointed toe; Coveti’s listing does not give a calf measurement, so if you have a fuller calf, compare it with a long boot you already own.

Do Aje shoe sizes match Aje clothing sizes?

No, they are separate systems. Aje clothing is shown on the UK 4 to 18 ladder (with letter sizes on knits), while the shoes are EU. A UK 8 in a dress tells you nothing about your shoe size. For clothing, use the Aje sizing guide, and for Aje Studio’s sizing, see Aje Studio.

What if the size is wrong?

Coveti ships worldwide from our UAE and Australia hubs by DHL Express and FedEx International Priority, and every pair is 100% authentic and verified before dispatch. If a size does not work, returns follow our returns policy. Note that Aje purchased at David Jones is returned to David Jones; returns do not cross between retailers.
