Erdem Bloom Bag Guide: Every Size, Material and Price (2026)

0

The Erdem Bloom bag is the London house’s first handbag line, launched for Pre-Spring 2025 and recognisable by its cast brass flower bud handle, which Erdem says takes seven hours to make by lost wax casting. It comes in six shapes, Micro, Mini, Midi, Large, East West and Minaudiere, and on Coveti it costs $1,960 to $4,390.

Key facts

  • The Bloom is Erdem’s debut handbag collection. It arrived in late 2024 as part of Pre-Spring 2025, first in two sizes, the Mini and a medium shape that Erdem now sells as the Midi.
  • Every Bloom handle is a flower bud cast in brass. Erdem’s own product copy states it “takes seven hours to produce using the lost wax casting method”.
  • The family now runs to six shapes: Micro, Mini, Midi, Large, East West and the framed Bloom Minaudiere.
  • Most Bloom bags close with a petal-shaped magnetic flap and are lined in kid suede. The Minaudiere uses a push button closure, and some Minaudieres are lined in goat suede.
  • Coveti carries 40 Bloom styles this season, from $1,960 (Micro in velvet, East West in leather) to $4,390 (Mini in feathers, Minaudiere in embellished satin).
  • The Mini measures H 12cm, W 11cm, L 16.5cm, with a 120cm strap and a 57cm drop.
  • Erdem describes the leather East West as made in Italy, and launch coverage reported the first Bloom bags were handmade by artisans in Italy.

What is the Erdem Bloom bag?

Erdem Moralioglu founded his label in London in 2005 and spent almost two decades building it on prints, embroidery and dresses before he turned to leather goods. When the Bloom launched, he described the starting point as the women and muses behind his collections, along with what he called “a life-long fascination with the language of flowers” (quoted in Tag Walk’s launch report). The bag is the clearest object version of that idea. The body is soft and unstructured, and the handle is a single sculpted bud that sits on top like a piece of jewellery.

That jewellery comparison is literal. Lost wax casting is the method fine jewellers use: a wax model is carved, encased in a mould, melted out, and the cavity is filled with molten metal. Erdem applies it to a bag handle, which is why the bud has crisp petals and a hand-finished surface instead of the flat stamped look of most hardware. The handle carries the house logo, and it comes in gold tone and silver tone. The Bloom jewellery Erdem makes with The Royal Mint uses the same bud motif, so the bag and the Erdem jewellery and accessories read as one family.

Erdem Bloom bag sizes and dimensions

Here is every Bloom shape with the measurements Erdem publishes on its own product pages, plus the Coveti price range for each. Height is the top of the body (not counting the handle), width is the depth front to back, and length is the side to side measurement.

Shape Height Width Length Strap Coveti price (USD)
Micro Bloom 9cm 7.5cm 11cm Chain $1,960 to $2,340
Mini Bloom 12cm 11cm 16.5cm 120cm, 57cm drop $2,900 to $4,390
Midi Bloom 16cm 9cm 26.5cm Adjustable leather, 100cm to 107cm $3,460 to $4,200
Large Bloom 22cm 12cm 33cm Leather shoulder strap, 47cm to 53cm $3,830
East West Bloom 14cm 8cm 31cm Detachable shoulder strap $1,960 to $3,080
Bloom Minaudiere 11.5cm 5cm 19cm 120cm chain, 57cm drop $3,460 to $4,390

A few details matter more than the numbers suggest. The Micro has no long strap in Erdem’s description, only a chain, so treat it as a hand-held piece. The Mini comes with a detachable chain strap on most colourways, while a handful (Leopard Ponyskin, Black Crystal Leather, Natural Raffia) switch to a detachable, adjustable leather strap. The Midi’s adjustable strap gives a drop of 53cm to 57cm, which sits at the hip on most frames. The Large has a detachable handle and a short leather shoulder strap with a 29cm to 33cm drop, so it is a true under-arm bag.

Micro Bloom

The smallest Bloom is 11cm long, about the width of a palm. It is the entry price to the family: the Micro Bloom Bag in Black Velvet is $1,960, the same as the red, green and ink velvet versions. The Micro Bloom Bag in Silver Sequins is $2,340 and has a silver-tone bud.

Mini Bloom

The Mini is the original and still the widest range, with 17 versions on Coveti. Leather and velvet Minis start at $2,900. Sequins move it to $3,270, ponyskin and teal leather to $3,460, and the crystal and flower applique leathers to $3,640. The two feather Minis are the most expensive at $4,390. Measure your phone against the 16.5cm length before you buy.

Midi Bloom

The Midi is the medium shape from the original Pre-Spring 2025 launch. At 26.5cm long it is the first Bloom that works as an everyday bag, and its adjustable strap lets it go from shoulder to crossbody. The Midi Bloom Bag in Black Leather ($3,460) is the original Pre-Spring 2025 style, still listed on Erdem’s own site under that season.

Large Bloom

The Large is the work bag of the family, in grain leather only on Coveti: the Large Bloom Bag in Black Grain Leather and a Malbec version, both $3,830. It is the only Bloom with a detachable flower bud handle, according to Erdem’s specification.

East West Bloom

The East West is long and narrow, closes with a zip, and swaps the cast handle for a flower bud zip pull. Erdem describes the leather version as made in Italy from a single piece of leather. The satin East Wests are embellished with crystals and carry a knotted, detachable satin handle. Prices run from $1,960 for the East West Bloom Bag in Black Leather to $3,080 for the textured satin colourways.

Bloom Minaudiere

The Minaudiere is the evening shape: a slim bespoke brass frame with the bud floating along the top, a push button closure and a detachable chain. At 5cm deep it is the slimmest bag in the family. The Bloom Minaudiere in Merlot Velvet is $3,460, and the Bloom Minaudiere in Black Embellished Satin is $4,390. Browse every framed style in our designer clutch bags edit.

Which Bloom bag materials can you buy?

The shape stays constant and the surface changes each season. These are the materials currently on Coveti, taken from Erdem’s own specifications.

  • Leather. Calf leather in black, porcelain, blush, chestnut, khaki, teal, cherry and Malbec, plus grain leather on the Large. The Midi’s fabric label reads 100% calf leather with a 100% kid suede lining and a 100% brass handle.
  • Patent leather. The Midi Bloom Bag in Ruby Patent Leather ($3,640) is the only patent Bloom in the current edit.
  • Velvet. Black, Malbec, ink, red and green velvet across the Micro, Mini and Minaudiere.
  • Satin. Navy, cameo pink and forest green satin Minis at $2,900, and textured satin East Wests with crystals.
  • Feathers. Black and white feathers on a satin base, both on the Mini. See the Mini Bloom Bag in Black Feathers at $4,390.
  • Sequins. Silver sequins on a satin base, on the Mini ($3,270) and the Micro ($2,340).
  • Raffia. The Mini Bloom Bag in Natural Raffia ($2,900) is the summer version, on a leather strap.
  • Ponyskin. The Mini Bloom Bag in Leopard Ponyskin ($3,460) is calf hair printed with leopard.

Gold-tone and silver-tone handles are not tied to a material. The navy and cameo pink satins, black crystal leather and blush Midi have silver buds. Most others are gold.

Which Erdem Bloom bag should you buy for day and for evening?

Erdem pitched the first two sizes for day and evening, and the range has since split along clearer lines. My short answer: buy the Midi in leather if you want one bag for daily use, and the Mini in velvet, satin and feathers if it will mostly come out at night.

Use Best shape Best material Why
Daily, office Midi, Large Calf leather, grain leather Largest bodies, adjustable strap on the Midi, hard-wearing surface
Weekend, travel East West Leather Zip closure, long strap, lowest leather price in the family
Dinners, events Mini Velvet, satin, sequins Chain strap, jewel-like handle
Black tie, weddings Minaudiere, Mini Embellished satin, feathers Rigid frame holds its shape, handle reads as jewellery
Summer Mini Raffia Light texture, leather strap

For a wedding, the Minaudiere in champagne embellished satin is the piece I would pair with a gown. Our Erdem wedding guest and bridal guide covers the dresses to go with it.

What are the Erdem Flora shoulder and chain bags?

The Flora is the second Erdem bag family, which arrived with Pre Fall 2026. Erdem says the shape “reflects the organic curve of a flower petal”. Instead of a cast handle, it has sculptural gold-tone floral cord ends where the strap meets the body. Both versions measure H 16cm, W 11cm and L 17cm, close with a zip and have an internal pocket.

The Flora is rounder and softer than the Bloom, with no flap. If you like the bud motif but want a quieter bag, it is the better buy. Both sit in our wider edit of designer bags.

Erdem bag charms

Erdem makes two leather charms, both described as crafted in Italy and finished with a fixed knot and a light gold branded coin charm. The Flower Leather Charm in Blush ($950) has a three-dimensional nappa leather flower and is 29cm long, with flowers of 6cm and 5cm. The Flora Bag Charm in black ($1,030) has a sculptural floral bud. Either one clips to a Bloom strap, which is an easy way to dress up a plain black leather Mini.

How much does an Erdem bag cost?

On Coveti, Erdem bags cost $1,960 to $4,390, and bag charms $950 to $1,030. Price depends mostly on the surface: leather and velvet are the base price for each shape, sequins and applique add a few hundred dollars, and feathers and embellished satin sit at the top. The cheapest way into the Bloom family is the Micro in velvet and the East West in leather, both at $1,960. How do you care for an Erdem Bloom bag?

Erdem’s own guidance is to follow the care label inside each item, and the house notes that damage from incorrect cleaning is not treated as a fault. It also offers repairs for wear and tear through its customer service team, which may carry a cost. Beyond that, the practical rules are simple.

  • Store the bag stuffed with tissue in its dust bag, upright, away from direct sun.
  • Keep the cast handle away from perfume and hand cream, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth after wearing.
  • Feathers, sequins and raffia should never be brushed. Keep them in a box, with nothing pressing on the surface.
  • Velvet and satin mark with water, so carry them on dry evenings and blot spills at once.
  • For leather, use a specialist cleaner only after testing it on a hidden area. Patent needs its own cleaner.
