Is Erdem a luxury brand?
Yes. Erdem is a London designer label in the luxury ready-to-wear tier. It shows at London Fashion Week, has its flagship on South Audley Street in Mayfair, opened in 2015, and has been sold through department stores such as Selfridges and Le Bon Marche. Moralioglu has called it an independent British label, and that independence is part of the pricing: there is no large group spreading costs across dozens of brands.
The house has also made accessible collaborations. Erdem x H&M launched on 2 November 2017 and included Erdem’s first menswear collection. For Autumn Winter 2026 there is an Erdem x Barbour collaboration. Neither changes the price of the mainline, which is what Coveti stocks. For the full background, read who is Erdem.
Is Erdem expensive, and why?
Erdem is expensive because most of the cost sits in materials and handwork you can see. Three things drive the price.
Embroidery and embellishment
Embroidery is the clearest price lever. The plain herringbone dresses start near $2,900, while the Embroidered Textured Satin Bustier Gown reaches $9,430 and the Embroidered Cloque Jacquard Sleeveless Midi Dress reaches $10,530. Sequins with floral applique sit between: the Holiday 2027 sequin gown with long sleeves is $7,000.
Silk duchess satin and fine fabrics
Silk duchess is a heavy, lustrous satin. A floor-length skirt in it takes several metres of cloth, which is why the duchesse satin Floral Duchess Short Sleeve Gown costs $4,580 even before any embroidery. Silk velvet, Italian-woven brushed herringbone and cotton lace sit in the same bracket.
Lost-wax casting on the Bloom bag
The Bloom bag handle is a cast flower in brass, and Erdem says each one takes seven hours to produce using the lost wax casting method. That one detail explains why even the smallest Micro Bloom Bag in Ink Velvet is $1,960. Surface decides the rest: the Mini Bloom Bag in Black Feathers and the Bloom Minaudiere in Black Embellished Satin both sit at $4,390. My Erdem Bloom bag guide compares every size.
How much is Erdem jewellery?
Erdem jewellery on Coveti costs $430 to $1,400. The Royal Mint Bloom pieces are the precious-metal line: the Bloom Ring is $810 and the Bloom Necklace is $1,090, both in 925 sterling silver with 18 karat gold vermeil. The costume pieces are cast in brass with pearls and glass crystals; earrings run $660 to $1,180 and the Pearl Alphabet Brooches, A to Z, are $430 each. For gifts under $1,000, the Satin Cady Neck Scarf in Black at $580 and the Wide Embroidered Headband in Black at $840 are the easiest entry points. More in my Erdem jewellery and accessories guide.
How does Erdem compare on price with similar brands?
Erdem sits in the upper middle of the romantic designer market. The table shows approximate dress price bands for brands that Coveti carries, taken from the live Coveti catalogue in October 2026. Prices move each season, so treat them as a guide.
| Brand | Approximate dress range on Coveti (USD) | Where it sits against Erdem |
|---|---|---|
| Zimmermann | $800 to $7,560 | Starts much lower, with fewer heavy evening pieces |
| Emilia Wickstead | $1,790 to $5,930 | Similar entry price, lower ceiling |
| Alessandra Rich | $1,230 to $8,780 | Lower entry price, slightly lower ceiling |
| Huishan Zhang | $1,000 to $9,430 | Close match at the evening end |
| Erdem | $1,590 to $10,530 | Reference point |
| Jenny Packham | $3,710 to $6,390 | Higher entry price, lower ceiling |
| Richard Quinn | $3,750 to $13,310 | Higher entry and ceiling |

When does Erdem go on sale?
People search “Erdem sale” and “Erdem dress sale” a lot, so here is how markdowns usually work in luxury fashion. Retailers in general reduce the previous season at two points in the year: early summer, when spring stock clears, and late December into January, when autumn and winter stock clears. Sizes at the centre of the range sell first, so the deepest reductions tend to be on very small and very large sizes and on bold colours.
Three practical points. First, new-season Erdem, such as Holiday 2027, is sold at full price at launch. Second, signature pieces like the Bloom bag in black leather are restocked rather than cleared, so they are rarely reduced. Third, a sale price on a gown that needs altering can cost more than a full-price dress that fits. Coveti does not promise sale dates; prices on Coveti are the prices shown on the product page.
Is Erdem worth the price? A value-per-wear guide
Cost per wear is the simplest way to judge it. Divide the price by the number of times you will realistically wear the piece.
- The Floral Crepe Long Sleeve Midi Dress at $1,930, worn 30 times over three years, is about $64 a wear.
- A Mini Bloom Bag at $2,900, carried 100 evenings over five years, is $29 a wear.
- The Embroidered Textured Satin Bustier Gown at $9,430, worn to five galas, is $1,886 a wear.
- The Embroidered Wool Coat at $11,300, worn 40 days a winter for five winters, is about $57 a wear.
My advice: buy the dress, the coat and the bag at full price because you will wear them; be pickier with gowns, which have the highest cost per wear. If the occasion is a wedding, my best Erdem dresses list and Erdem size guide will help you buy once.
