Khaite Clive Ankle Boot in Caramel Suede

Khaite boots are made in Italy, sized in Italian (IT/EU) sizes 35 to 42, and come in thirteen current families: the Western-leaning Clive and Nevada, the square-toed Arizona, Davis, Ona and Petra, the riding-inspired Colt, the pointed Andee, Sybil and Valerie, the wedge-heeled Bella, the deconstructed Marlene and the flat Apollo. At Coveti they run from $1,990 for the Arizona Boot in Black Leather to $6,280 for the Marlene Knee-High Boot in Natural Python. The quickest way to choose is by shaft height first, then toe shape, then heel.

Cate Holstein founded Khaite in New York in 2016, and footwear has become one of the label’s clearest signatures. Snip toes borrowed from cowboy boots, square toes cut flat at the front, gold staples on the outsole: the same details repeat across boots, pumps and flats. What follows covers every boot line Khaite sells today, with Coveti prices, materials and the construction notes the brand gives for each one.

The Western boots: Clive, Nevada and the Marfa question

Khaite’s Western styles account for most of the search interest, and two families carry that look today.

Clive

Khaite describes the Clive as a sharp yet rustic boot inspired by well-worn Western classics. It has a snip toe, a deliberately tilted shaft, a stitched welt and a stacked heel of patinated leather. The taller Clive Boot in Umber is in hand-worked split-suede calfskin, while the black, dark brown and vintage black versions use vegetable-tanned calfskin. All four sit at $2,570.

The ankle version is proportioned for daily wear, in Khaite’s words. Fall 2026 adds the Clive Ankle Boot in Caramel Suede and the Clive Ankle Boot in Midnight Navy Suede, both $2,570. The Clive Ankle Boot in Olive Ostrich at $5,690 is the exotic option.

Nevada

The Nevada is what Khaite calls a mid-calf urban cowboy boot. It has a squared toe, a stylised wingtip traced by tonal topstitching and a side zip for a smooth fit. It comes as a High and a Low version, both described as mid-calf, in black nappa, dark brown nappa and a black calfskin with a python-embossed wingtip. The Nevada Stretch Low Boot in Dark Brown Nappa Leather is $2,570, and the python-embossed Nevada Stretch High Boot is $2,590.

What happened to the Marfa boot?

The Marfa does not appear in Khaite’s current catalogue, and Coveti does not stock it. For a similar Western shape, the Clive is the closest match on detailing, with its snip toe and stacked heel. The Nevada is the better pick for a zip and a softer, stretch nappa shaft.

The Arizona boot family

The Arizona is Khaite’s streamlined, square-toed signature, and there are three versions. The Arizona Boot in Black Leather ($1,990) is made in Italy of smooth calfskin and has no closures at all, so it pulls on. The Arizona Stretch Ankle Boot in Bordeaux ($2,130) switches to nappa lambskin infused with stretch, which Khaite says gives all-day comfort and added give at the stitchline, with a back zip. The over-the-knee version keeps the stretch nappa and moves the zip to the side, at $3,630.

The Davis Boot in Black Leather ($2,280) shares the Arizona Boot’s description word for word: smooth Italian calfskin, a square toe and no closures.

Knee-high Khaite boots

Six families come in a knee-high shaft, and they split neatly by toe shape.

  • Ona: square toe, blade heel, tonal outsole, no closures. Khaite calls it the ultimate day boot. $2,400 in black and chocolate glazed leather, $2,720 in ebano suede.
  • Andee: pointed toe, leather sole, stacked block heel and gold staples at the outsole. $2,400 in black glazed leather, $2,720 in ebano suede.
  • Colt: a relaxed take on the riding boot with a snip toe, the hint of a stacked heel and a looped back tab for pulling on. $2,820 in black and bordeaux glazed leather and two-toned vintage brown calfskin.
  • Petra: square toe, straight shaft, leather sole and stacked block heel, in aniline-dyed saddle-soft calfskin. $3,930.
  • Bella: lasted construction in tumbled two-toned baby calfskin, with Khaite’s Empire hardware tipping a sculpturally wrapped wedge heel. $3,340.
  • Marlene: square toe, flat-stitched, suede-lined, with an extended insole that gives extra room in the toe box and lets the front bend and lie flat. Gold staples sit on the flexible leather outsole. $3,020 in black glazed calfskin, $6,280 in python.

The Arizona Over-the-Knee Stretch Boot is the only style that goes above the knee.

Ankle and mid-calf boots

Most knee-high families have an ankle twin. The Ona Ankle Boot in Chocolate Glazed Leather ($1,990) adds a notched back for pull-on ease. The Andee Ankle Boot is $1,990 in glazed leather and $2,280 in suede, the Colt Ankle Boot is a paddock boot with an inside zip at $2,130, and the Petra Ankle Boot is $3,020. The Bella Ankle Boot adds a side zip at $2,600.

Three styles exist only below the knee. The Sybil Ankle Boot is slim and pointed, with a wrapped wedge heel and an inside zip, from $2,130 in glazed leather and cacao to $2,570 in rouge noir haircalf. The Valerie Mid-Calf Boot ($2,590) is designed to feel like a second skin, in stretch-infused lambskin with an elongated pointed toe and a curved heel integrated into the leather sole. The Marlene Boot ($2,280) is a mid-calf version in stretch nappa that Khaite describes as sock-like in its softness, with a back zip.

Stretch and flat boots

Four lines use stretch leather: the Arizona Stretch styles, the Nevada, the Valerie and the mid-calf Marlene Boot. These are the boots to look at for a close line through the ankle and calf, because the leather is chosen to give and adapt to the wearer’s foot.

The Apollo Flat Ankle Boot in Black Leather ($2,190) is the one truly flat boot, with a rounded toe borrowed from the ballet flat and a back zip. If a full flat feels too casual, the Colt has only the hint of a stacked heel and reads almost as flat.

Heel shapes, explained

Khaite’s product copy describes heels by shape, not by measurement, so the most reliable way to compare them is by type.

  • Flat: Apollo.
  • Hint of a stacked heel: Colt, the lowest heeled option.
  • Stacked heel: Clive, Andee, Petra.
  • Blade heel: Ona, a slimmer, sleeker heel line.
  • Wrapped wedge: Bella and Sybil, which spread the height under the arch.
  • Curved heel integrated into the sole: Valerie.
  • Sleek, decisive heel: Marlene Knee-High.

How Khaite boots fit

Khaite sizes all footwear in Italian sizes. Its own guide sets IT 35 as US 5 and UK 2, rising one size at a time to IT 42, which is US 12 and UK 9. Khaite makes most boots in half sizes from 35 to 42. The Nevada, the Apollo, the Davis and the Arizona Boot start at 35.5. Coveti lists whole EU sizes from 35 to 42, clipped to the sizes each style is actually made in.

The fit notes worth knowing come straight from the construction. The Marlene’s extended insole gives more room in the toe box. Pull-on styles such as the Ona, Andee, Petra and Arizona Boot have no zip at all. The Nevada, Valerie, Sybil, Bella Ankle and the Arizona Stretch styles all have zips, and the stretch leathers are chosen to adapt to the foot. For the full conversion chart, see the Khaite size guide.

Which Khaite boot should you buy?

  • A first Khaite boot for every day: the Ona Ankle Boot in glazed leather at $1,990, which Khaite designed as its ultimate day boot.
  • Western without costume: the Clive Ankle Boot, with its snip toe and stacked heel.
  • Knee-high to wear with skirts: the Colt for a low heel, the Andee for a pointed toe.
  • A close, sleek line: the Valerie Mid-Calf Boot, the stretch Arizona and the Nevada.
  • Something to keep for years: the Petra, in calfskin aniline dyed to preserve the natural character of the leather.
  • No heel at all: the Apollo Flat Ankle Boot.

For outfit ideas, the how to style Khaite guide pairs the boots with the label’s denim and knitwear, and the Khaite shoes guide covers the pumps, flats and sandals. Shoppers comparing labels will also find Western and square-toed boots at Paris Texas and The Row.
