Patou Knitwear: Merino, Cashmere and the Jacquard Logo

The knitwear is the quietest strong thing Patou makes. It does not photograph as well as the
bloomer skirts, and it is the part of the collection most worth the money.

The fabrics

• Wool and cashmere, 90 percent wool with 10 percent cashmere,
  made in France. This is the best of the range: the cardigans, the
  zip-up blousons, the cable knits and the tote bags in the same yarn. Around 490 to
  750 euros at source.
• Merino, 100 percent, and extrafine merino, made in Turkey. The frilled
  high-neck sweaters and the finer knits. Around 490 euros.
• Merino and polyester blend, 82 percent merino with 18 percent polyester,
  for the jacquard logo jumpers. Around 550 euros.
• Cotton blends, organic cotton with polyamide and recycled polyester, for
  the summer knits and the short-sleeved jacquard tops. Around 350 euros.

The jacquard logo knit

The one you will recognise. The Patou lettering and the
JP monogram knitted into the front in a contrast colour, in black on white and white on black, crewneck, ribbed collar, cuffs and waist. It comes as a
full jumper and as a fitted short-sleeved top. Because the logo is knitted rather than
printed, it does not crack and it does not peel.

• Cardigans, cropped monogram versions and longer cable knits.
• Turtlenecks, including the frilled high-neck merino, which is the most
  distinctive knit the house makes.
• Zip-up blousons in wool and cashmere, a knit cut like outerwear.

Sizing and care

The knits run in letters, generally XS to XL. FR 38 is usually an S to M.
Full conversion. Most of the wool and cashmere pieces are hand wash and dry clean; the cotton blends machine wash at 30C. The composition and the care

Khaite makes better knitwear and charges considerably more for it.
Totême is comparable on cloth with a plainer aesthetic. At 490 to 750 euros for
