Ulla Johnson Knitwear: Knit Dresses, Tops, Skirts and Sweaters

Ulla Johnson knitwear is mostly fitted, patterned knit in jacquard and compact viscose, cut into dresses, tops and skirts rather than plain sweaters, plus two merino pieces from Fall 2026. Pre-Spring 2027 treats knit as a dress fabric. There are four distinct knits in the drop, each with its own finish, and once you can tell them apart it is easy to build a matching set.

The four knits in Pre-Spring 2027

Noir and Gardenia jacquard with fringe

A cotton and polyester jacquard in black and gardenia white, worked in wave-like and marled stripes. Its signature is fringe: a tiered fringed skirt on the Nadine dress, mini fringe at the hem of the Vida top, tiered fringe on the Evelina skirt. The Vida top also comes in Terracotta Rose, a terracotta pink and cream.

Compact knit with lace-like florals

A viscose, polyester and nylon compact knit that holds its shape. Floral jacquard motifs are placed at the shoulders, waist and skirt, and the edges are scalloped, so from a distance it reads almost like lace. It comes in black, Topaz (a deep mustard) and Cowrie ivory.

Rayon knit with geometric eyelets

A viscose and nylon knit in garnet red and champagne cream with black eyelets, punched with columns of geometric eyelet motifs and finished with a textured band at the bodice, yoke and waist. If you like eyelet dresses, this is the knit version.

Lurex blend with mesh insets

The Amaia dress is a rayon, polyester and silk blend with Lurex, plain through the body with wavy mesh insets at the midi hem. It comes in sienna red with rose gold and black with gold.

1. Nadine Knit Dress in Noir and Gardenia

The Nadine, sleeveless with a rounded neckline, is sculpted through the body by vertical jacquard stripes before falling into a tiered fringe hem.

2. Corinthia Knit Dress in Noir

The Corinthia in black compact knit, a sleeveless crew-neck midi with lace-like floral motifs placed to contour the body and scalloped edges.

3. Amaia Knit Dress in Noir and Gold

The Amaia in black and gold Lurex blend has long sleeves, a streamlined body and wavy mesh insets at the hem. A knit dress for evening.

4. Maribel Knit Dress in Garnet

The Maribel in garnet red pairs geometric eyelet motifs with a textured band through the middle and a drop waist into a gently flared midi skirt.

The Audrey Cami in champagne, the Tahlia in black and the Amaia in sienna and rose gold complete the dresses.

The Vida Knit Top, sleeveless with a structured bodice and mini fringe, is made to wear with the Evelina skirt as a set.

The Evelina Knit Skirt has a sculpted waist, marled stripes and tiered fringe at the midi hem.

7. Ingrid Knit Tank Top in Noir

The Ingrid Knit Tank Top moves from opaque knit into sheer jacquard netting from the bust to the waist, with scalloping at the neckline and armholes.

8. Rosina Midi Knit Skirt in Topaz

The Rosina Midi Knit Skirt in deep mustard, with lace-like floral motifs, pleats and a cinched waistband. It pairs with the Vara top in the same Topaz.

The sweaters: Carmen, Makila and Camille

9. Carmen Knit Pullover in Noir and Gardenia

The Carmen Knit Pullover is the relaxed piece in the jacquard, with raglan sleeves and ribbing at the cuffs, crew neckline and hem.

10. Makila Knit Cardigan in Clove

The Makila Knit Cardigan, from Fall 2026, is clove brown merino wool with a shawl collar, a cape overlay, pockets and double armhole construction.

Its partner, the Camille Knit Pullover, is the same clove merino with a turtleneck and long sleeves, draped throughout. These two are the warmest pieces in the edit and sit in our sweaters and cardigans edits.

How to wear Ulla Johnson knitwear

• Wear the matching sets together: Vida with Evelina, the Vara top with the Rosina skirt in Topaz, the Avelina cape top with the Lilah skirt in garnet.
• Treat the knit dresses as dresses, not layers. A sandal and a small bag are enough.
• Put the Makila cardigan over a silk print dress for cooler evenings; its cape overlay sits well over flutter sleeves.
• Pair the Carmen pullover with denim, such as the Lisbet skirt, for the most casual way into the jacquard.
• Choose a smooth bra and slip under the Ingrid tank, where the netting is sheer.

Ulla Johnson cuts in US sizes and Coveti lists the UK equivalent: a US 0 is a UK 4, a US 4 is a UK 8 and a US 6 is a UK 10. Knitwear runs P to XL, with P listed as XS. Most of the knits are described as structured, sculpted throughout, so they follow the body closely; the Carmen, Makila and Camille are relaxed and draped.

Every knit in this edit is dry clean only. Between cleans, fold knits rather than hang them, since the weight of a knit dress will stretch it on a hanger. Comb fringe gently with your fingers after wearing, and store the merino pieces with cedar to keep moths away.
